fuckin' eh to that...
Re: Canucks News and Notes
The only thing I've read about Gaunce is that he is practicing with the "black aces".
It's in my post that's three above SKYO's.
I really hope we don't need to play him.

Re: Canucks News and Notes
Canucks signed Dman Henrik Tommernes to a ELC.
Played with Frolunda in the SEL (16 points in 54 games). 179 games of SEL experience.
Round 7 (#210) pick from the 2011 draft. 6' Dman so perhaps a bit undersized.
From that draft the canucks have signed Jensen (Winger, 26th overall), Grenier (winger, 90th), Corrado (Dman, 150th), Blomstrand (winger, 120th) and Tommernes (D-man, 210th) to ELCs
edit: Also in this draft were Honzik (G) and LaBate (center). Labate is still in college and has not turned pro.

Re: Canucks News and Notes
"Couldn't be happier to announce I have signed a two year deal with the Vancouver Canucks"
-Tom Sestito!
LW Tom Sestito on new 2-yr, 1-way *$1.5m deal with Canucks: "I definitely wanted to be in Vancouver. I expressed that in my exit meetings."

Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Meh.
Under the heading of not so bold moves...item # 1.

Re: Canucks News and Notes
As a 4th liner or 13th forward, Sestito is OK, I guess.
I suppose guys like him are needed, but I'd prefer somebody on the 4th line who can chip in offensively a bit more often.

Not so bold, but he fits the plan: younger, cheaper, tougher.donlever wrote:Meh.

2011..... the one that got away.
Re: Canucks News and Notes
He fills the shrinking Pisan quota
Re: Canucks News and Notes
That's my take as well. I don't mind Sestito as a guy who gets into nastier games, or when a player like Weise is struggling, or what have you.herb wrote:As a 4th liner or 13th forward, Sestito is OK, I guess.
Hopefully Tom's going to be in tough to win a spot in the lineup most nights.

My hope is Archibald seriously plays well and pushes Sestito and Pinnizzotto downt he depth chart.dbr wrote:That's my take as well. I don't mind Sestito as a guy who gets into nastier games, or when a player like Weise is struggling, or what have you.

Other than that, this looks like more of the same. It always irks me too that these marginal 4th line guys manage to get raises. Sestito was getting paid $605,000 last year and now will be getting paid $750,000. A 24% raise for what?
