GDT - Thursday Mar 21 - Van @ PHO 7:00 SNET

Post by 2Fingers »

The good thing about a shortened season is that there are games everyone couple of nights. Lets hope the Nucks took some of the good things they did on Tuesday and continue tonight like driving to the net instead of the constant passing around the outside.

Malhotra

Brad Ziemer ‏@BradZiemer
Pinizzotto not on ice and apparently did not travel with team yesterday. He missed big chunk of season with bad groin. #Canucks
Brad Ziemer ‏@BradZiemer
Higgins left ice early. Vigneault just over to bench to talk with head trainer Mike Burnstein. #Canucks

So the bad news contiues to get worse. Pinizzotto is sick and didn't travel with the team, and Higgins tweaked his back and is likely out for tonight. Kassian did not travel with the team.

Some guy named Andrew Gordon has been called up from the Wolves and will play tonight. He'll wear #44. He has played 49 career NHL games (3G 4A) and has put up 26 points this year in the AHL (16G 10A).

Sounds like a defenseman (Ballard?) will play forward to help fill out a roster.

So what does team casualty look like tonight?

Sedin/Sedin/ Burr?
Hansen/Raymond/ ??
Weise/Schroeder/Sistito

It looks awful. Something like:

Dank-Hank-Burrows
Raymond-Ebbett-Hansen
Ballard-Schroeder-Weise
Gordon-Lapierre-Sestito

So, the entire second line from last year is out. Our third line consists of a defenseman, a 4th liner and a rookie who's played less than 30 games and put up 6 points, and the 4th line has an AHLer, a very borderline NHLer and a Lapdog.

Yikes.

Here's hoping Schneider pitches a shutout and we get a timely goal from somebody, I guess.... :?

Haven't been to a Canucks game in Phoenix have you?

Pretty much is a home game! Should catch all the snowbirds before they come back up here.

It's been about 10 years since I was there for a game. I think we lost 5-0 or something like that, and not a lot of Orcas were there.

But it makes sense now that the team is much trendier.

Wait, who was that 'Nucks forward who just blew around the 'Yotes D and rang it off the post?

Keith ****ing Ballard? :o

I guess we just found our next speedy power forward. :P

No kidding eh? Ballard is showing better hockey sense, moves and forchecking than David Booth! Probably end up with more ice time as a forward than he would as a D.

Doesn't take a lot of sense to have more sense than David 'Swaggart' Booth
