Agree .. though he did get 1 shootout win this season.. Is there any rule or reason why AV doesn't make a goaltender change for the shootout? Schneider seems much better in shootouts?

The Canucks neutral zone play (coverage, passing, shoot-ins) looked sloppy - again. Positioning fell apart under fore-check pressure.

It would be interesting to try Garrison on the PP instead of Edler.
Less Canucks embarrassment please.

He should've made reference to some sort of soccer shootout! Clearly guessed wrong on this one.

Though Jake Allen did the same thing with Burrows, but Alex shot it right into his pad.

As far as I'm concerned we should start having a shootout team, much like the PK and PP units. They take some time each practice and learn some new moves. Give the responsibility to guys like Schroeder, Kassian and Raymond to start.

We need to score more goals, when we score it puts more pressure on the oppositions shooters to score. When we don't score they can come in relaxed and seemingly have better results.

It's like the Cup finals, we can blame the goaltending for the goals they let in as much as we want, but until we start scoring we still have no hope of winning these things!

-When the opposing team starts pressuring the D in a big way the forwards aren't compensating by supporting the D any better. They are still fleeing the zone hoping for stretch passes, which leads to a ridiculous amount of icings, sometimes 3 or 4 consecutive icings. This used to be an option when the Canucks were dominant in the faceoff circle but they are struggling and it's starting to cost us IMSHO.

-The Backes non-call was fairly ridiculous it seems like the official assumed Bieksa pushed him in or something. Other than that the officiating was fairly even.

-The teamisn't great at shootouts, nothing new there

-Both sides showed the ability to dominate and hem the other in the zone, would be a great playoff series and nothing like the sweep from a few years ago.

-Pieterangelo (Spelling?) is so silky smooth

For the first time this season Tanev and Ballard actually were our worst pairing out there. Ballard made a couple screw ups, but Tanev was directly responsible for letting Oshie thru unchallenged for that rebound he out in for the tying goal.

Also noticed Lou and Ballard having quite the exchange at the end of the second period. Could have been nothing, though we've seen Lou have words for Ballard in the past when Ballard has had a period fraught with foul ups.

Lu’s reaction isn’t that bad…

He looks down in time to see the puck bounce out.
Less Canucks embarrassment please.

DOH!

As someone on another board pointed out, Canucks shootout shooters are 3 for 16

... which tends to make opposition shooters feel less pressure/give them more confidence.

Not letting Lou off the hook but is AV ever going to have this TEAM work on shootouts??

Why is Lou so good on penalty shots and so crappy in shootouts?

Too much time to think? :eh:

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
