8 games in and I'm fairly pleased with the start. Yes, the wins have been ugly, but in a short season, the hockey will be ugly, it just will. Isn't this is the best start in the AV era? With the goalie issue, Kesler/Booth out, and the team having the rooks or fairly young players (Kass, Shroeder, Tanev) playing regular minutes, they are holding the fort pretty well. As a lifelong Canuck fan I am well aware it can all go to shit, but thus far, they are buying time for injured players to recover, getting young players minutes and scrapping out points...could be much worse.

8 games in and 2 wins... 2 shootout wins 2 shootout losses and 2 losses.. a .500 hockey team ?
Sedin's? NO 5 on 5 goals Hank with 5 points in assists ( PP sucking too )..Without great goaltending by Lou we would be truly fighting with the Flames for bottom of the barrel..
So .. do the math.. D Sedin .. 48 games.. 0 goals 5 on 5 .. 12 goals on PP.. :(

( Yeah its stupid but Sami Salo is doing better than H Sedin.. both with 5 assists but Sami is +10 :) )

Best start since....way back
Team is just finding rythym
Still more to find for sure
We have a goalie controversy, very distracting
We have done this without our 2nd line.

people seem to forget this is still like preseason games to most of our players.

I'm sure they'll pick it up soon.

I actually think come playoff time the team will just be in perfect form/shape for a run. (Mid-season form)

And no more injuries or tired bodies this time.

So as long as we get into the playoffs, I don't really care if we push for top 3 seed or not.

Uhh no Tiger they have 4 wins. How bout you do the math ? Hilarious how so many people expect this team to be world beaters when they are missing two fairly important players in a cap league.

Thank you for appreciating the truly important work being done in this thread.

The Sedins aren't going to be involved in a single even strength goal this year, and this team is going to suffer as a result.

It's time for the Canucks to blow up the team and rebuild around players other than the Sedins - Mike Gillis should, in the words of RoyalDude, "just get what he can" for those two players as it's obvious they are finished.

I heard somewhere this is the Canucks' best start under Vigneault, so this could be the beginning of a historic threepeat President's Trophy season!

Even strength scoring will always be erratic for defenseman the sample size is far to small atm.
