Phil Kessel straight up for Luongo?
Wouldja?
Yes..if we can also trade with Pittsburgh ( Booth or ? ) for Kunitz..put both on Kesler line... and we have
The KKK line .. should scare a few teams ... specially the Black Hawks ?
Sorry opps... the devil made me do it..

Washington is the only team that comes to mind who I think can actually justify acquiring Luongo. The other teams (FLA/TO) are still rebuilding and not considered contenders. Washington makes sense and have the pieces that we need(Johansson/Forsberg/Brouwer/Beagle/etc) to probably get the deal done.

The devil is usually much better at puns than that...
VAN GM Mike Gillis and asst GM Laurence Gilman taking in the WSH-PIT game today in D.C.
Hmmm... the dark horse approaches...
John Carlson please
I highly doubt that McPhee is entertaining the idea of trading probably their best young defenseman when it is defense and goaltending that they need. They have a plethora of young forwards, ie Johansson, Forsberg, Wilson, rights to Kuznetsov that I am sure is what McPhee would put on the table plus a goalie and a vet (Brouwer?), kind of what we need. We are not desperate for a defenseman, we have a very serviceable 3 pairing defense core that isn't that desperate for fixing other than a PP quarterback in which Carlson is not a specialist at.
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau
Adios Raymond, Weise, and Schroeder (back next year).
Laich, and either or of Neuvirth or Holtby for Luongo? How is that good for us? More bottom 6 talent in which we have an abundance of and a back up goalie for Luongo?

I would be surprised if G and G have much clue when it comes to scouting goalies so its probably the skaters they are there to see.
As deal for Lu probably involves
Neuvirth
+
1 of their young assets
Carlson
Alzner
Johansson
Forsberg
etc.
+
Swaping of a more vet forward (i.e Raymond, Hansen, Higgens, Lappy etc)
Ward
Brower
Chimera
Laich
Fehr
etc.
I think you need to put an end to the Carlson dream, Potatoe. Alzner is OK I guess, but has ZERO offense to his game. You think Tanev is bad. Forsberg, a vet and a goalie is what I'd be asking. Top 6 forward potential is what we need. Johansson is decent but very limited offensively, he would make for a good 3rd line centre I guess.

Probably correct. I
Mentioned Carlson because hes their best young player and a guy Gillis apparently has all ready tried to trade for.
Trading a forward makes way more sense for Washington.

LOL have you even seen him play.
Johansson skates like the wind and has a good shot. He made a good NHL team at 19 and then put up 46 points as a 20 year old. That is as good of a trend as you could expect from a guy taken out of the top5.

He is an excellent young forward.
OK, maybe you're right, for some reason I'm stuck on Forsberg cause maybe his ceiling might be higher. I honestly see a multi-player deal here. If Johanson comes this way, maybe Schroeder goes that way cause with Johanson and then Gaunce coming up, where does Schroeder fit in? That way we might be able to get them to toss in Wilson. Can you imagine Wilson and Kassian bearing down at you on the forcheck? Carlson could happen if we threw back that way Tanev but I like Tanev.
If we could get them to take Ballard and somehow get Carlson back, we finally get that elusive, 3 right handed defenseman to go with lefties Hamhius, Garrison and Edler. But I think I'm dreaming.

The interesting fact is that both Washington goalies are RFA's at the end of the year and they don't have any budding superstar goalies in their system...i wonder how mad Dale Tallon would be if Luongo ended up in Washington..
