I like Schroeder, smart player. Ebbett was struggling but worked hard on the third goal. The lesser lights are stepping it up this game.

Perry is such a sucker. He'll be easy to goad into another one later in the 3rd period.

Agree 100%. Time to hang 'em up Manny
As sad as that is, it's true.

Volpatti looks like a key fixture for the 4th line along with Lappy - Weise for a few good seasons at least. :)

Play of the day goes to the Sedin Twins beauty setup/pass to Kassassin's goal!

Kassian! Beauty play by twins, real nice shot by Kassian from a tough angle for a right handed shot. Showed great patience and didn't rush it.

Things could get real ugly for the Dude 'round here if this keeps up.

Some nice execution. Good to see the power play working.

Glad to see Kassian continuing to play well.

Yup, good win but could've been a very different story had the PP's been even.

Btw, I'm not one to gripe about AV (enough of you out there), but I'm a little miffed why we didn't see Schroeder on the garbage time PP's. We don't need another goal but you had a free opportunity to possibly give the kid a bit of confidence..you gain nothing with Ebbett and Lappy out there.

Schneider with a great game! kept the team in it early.
While Hiller had an atrocious game.

Solid team toughness.

Raymond stepping up, it's a perfect storm for him, his back has had a lot of time to heal and it's his contract year! So he will put up 100% effort this shortened season.

*Ballard's best game this season!

The wonder twins doing their magic, imagine if AV kept Kass on the 4th line? we would never see this chemistry with the Sedins.
It makes Burrows a permanent fixture on the 2nd line now imo.

* Best game by Raymond in two years

* Cory great bounce back game against the Ducks and great work to get the SO

* Kassian shows he has hands. Great goal from a bad angle.

* Two fights, Volpatti gets the better and Bieksa meh, but good on him for jumping in.

* Love Perry's skill but hate his pouting. He is one sore loser and gets in the cheep shots when he is mad. Now, Edler should have been giving a boarding penalty on that hit. I was actually shocked he didn't get called. But what a selfish play on Perry's part.

* Loved how Edler stood his ground but didn't get sucked into a penalty.

* Horrible start but we righted the ship and played a great road game.

* Can't remember a game where the PP were so lopsided to our benefit. The Ducks deserved every penalty they got but we got a way with several that could have been easily called. But nice to be on this side of one sided officiating.

* You can tell Lappy was hurting. He didn't have his speed or usual hustle. May be a good idea to rest him and put Manny back in. Not because Manny is better but because Lappy needs the rest.

* Good game by the youngsters. Keep Schroeder up please, he plays very well with Raymond.

Nice retribution game.
The only HW the Canucks need

No shit eh.

I do wonder, after our first four games and a few others I've caught involving other teams, if the league is sending a message to chippy teams and realizes that they need to apply the brakes to this train that was on a return to dead puck era station. They also promised to do more to discipline players and protect them. Calling tight games will do that. Anaheim was FULL marks for every penalty, and only the Edler hit on Perry stands out as one that we got away with. I'm really not sure why Perry or Boudreau are so surprised by those calls. Same as Getzlaf for his cross-check to Raymond's neck. See the bruise at the start of the 2nd? Shit! Even Allen wanted to argue his hit on Weise.....it's a bit surprising how much that team complains over every call.

I hope the refs call every game this way, so long as the Canucks know that come playoffs they have to man up because the refs won't protect them after the regular season.

I don't know the minutes played but it looked like Schroeder played quite a bit in comparison to some of the other guys who Vigneault threw out at the end for the PP. With the Canucks up 5-0 it was a good move by Vigneault to give that time to guys who sat for good stretches of the game. If anything I think this means Schroeder has bought himself a few more games.
