I feel like this is a replay of a game we already saw on the weekend.

Two sloppy plays and two goals. They let the Flames gain the blueline way too easily even though the 2nd was a PP goal after 4 straight penalties.
They can't lose this game to that team. Other than Iginla, Kiprusoff and a couple of others that team is full of AHL scrubs. Even Iginla looks lost out there. You have to wonder about the competitive drive of guys like Cammalleri, Tanguay and even Iginla for that matter. They all seem thrilled to play for one of the worst teams in the NHL.
This team needs Kesler and Booth back as they have basically nothing off the rush. Even then Luggage Eyes will have to do more than tinker with this team if they want to do some damage. Another top 6 guy is a must along with a third line centre and preferably one that can pass the puck and score the occasional goal.
Lots of time to get the pieces in place but just win this damn game already.

I'd say the Canucks are unlucky to be tied in this one - both Calgary goals were pretty much unstoppable, off the post and in.
Outshooting Calgary 28-18.
However, the rash of penalties has changed the momentum...

No shit those pps changed the game. A few guys must be exhausted right about now.
Still need something out of that Burrows line though. Higgins looks like a passenger out there.

Can we safely call that Kassian's best game as a Canuck? Kipper still can't find his strap.

That Kassian kid really has some moves. AV should replace Daniel with Kassian for the shootout.

What a move by Kassian. Not bad for the 2nd coming of Jim Sandbag.
Canucks looked good at times and downright ghastly at other times but wtf a win is a win I guess. By the looks of that Flames team they aren't going to be much of a threat this season.

That or the last one.....he had a good game last season against the Sabres too. You can see the potential there with this kid. I don't want to say he is another Bertuzzi because although the kid has good hands, Todd was really gifted. However Kassian is tougher and has a better shot than Bert and he actually comes back in his own end occasionally as well.Island Nucklehead wrote:Can we safely call that Kassian's best game as a Canuck? The word for this game: .......confidence.
Is this the start of a roll for Zeke???
Give this kid some confidence (and some time with the twins) and funny how noticeable he looks now. We'll see how long he keeps it up, but this can do nothing but boost his confidence.
Speaking of confidence, I bet Cory's feeling a bit better about himself now. Good game for him and, short of a shutout, just what he needed to get the last loss off his back.
Let's see if Raymond's game turns around with him finally getting back onto the scoresheet.
1st win of the season - even if it's not the prettiest and one they should have won - let the road trip start!

Great game by Kassian, smarts, hands, size. Not a lot not to like about him.
Schroeder can play everyday of the week over Ebbett thanks. Not that he did a whole lot but you can see that he reads plays well and can distribute the puck, he has some offensive talent.
This game should have been a rout if not for penalties. Though I did like it when Kassian ran Kipper and there wasn't a Flame that even glanced in his direction afterwards!
Win is a win but the Canucks need to clean up their game. This will come with games and practice, not to mention getting Kesler and Booth back.
Liked Schneiders game as well, solid in the shootout for sure.
