I think this offseason Straka can be signed.

Petr Straka is a former 2nd round pick, will have multiple UFA offers from NHL teams at the end of the season

Yeah, possibly as a stop gap but I think the east is better choice for him. Not sure if he could handle the Canucks travel especially with the condensed schedule!
