Yep... Almo was probably a better all around hockey player.. defensively the Russian Rocket was a liability... But god for pure excitement Bure beat Mogilny by a Russian country mile :)

We can split the difference on these 2, and put up #27.5 Danrick Sedin. Or, 22 on one side, and 33 on the other.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

With 12, 16 and 19 already there, where is the honour in having a number retired?
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Bure rates in the top 10 players of all time. I thought he was the most exciting player I've ever watched Live or on TV. #10 is my first choice for Best Canuck of All Time. NHL's Best Mario was Masterful and Gretzky 's Intuition unmatched, but When Bure turned on the Afterburners (**), No one could touch him ,and he would dangle through the whole team, always protecting the puck with his skates and fooling the defenceman by being extremely elusive ..all this time getting the crowd into a frenzy...and and his nose for the back of the net was like no other Canuck EVER . He had a mean streak and would periodically take out the other tough guys on the team by laying them out cold. He was the guy you wanted to have backing you up. The Good Old Days.. It's great that Vancouver is Finally giving Pavel the credit he deserves.....All be it a few decades to late and a few million dollars short.....Still no Cup yet, But Will there be another prodigy to save us and finally win us what we rite-fully deserve, Lord Stanley's Silver Chalice. What number will he wear and where will he come from, is he already here? Or will the sons of yesteryear remain to dominate the top(# Wise). My guess is as good as yours,. :mex: ...

Bure may be top 10 most EXCITING players of all time (probably top 5), but in terms of overall, I agree, he may crack top 40... which is still damn fine.

I blame Messier for the Bure departure from Canucks. Everything Mess touched when he played for Canucks turned into a steaming pile of dogshit.

Agreed, the only thing that dogshit of Messier did in his old ass age, beside selling greasy chips, is say...YUP the Canucks are indeed players in the UFA game.
Plus he gave Naslund some confidence to be a better leader.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Bure asked Pat Quinn to be traded multiple times before Messier ever played for the Canucks.

Yeah I know - I just hate Messier and like to blame him for all things that went wrong when he was a Canuck. Fact is that Bure wanted out more than ever during Messier's tenure here, so yeah I still legitimately blame Messier for his departure.

Well apparently Pavel found something wrong with Mark grabbing Pavel's stick at a party once, but I'm not one to gossip.

As if Pavel hadn't been screwed over enough at that point by Quin & McPhee....
