NFL Thread: Thoughts on the game south of the 49th

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

The crux of the issue.

That field is a fukin A one bitch when it is cold, wet and windy.

You come out of there feeling as though you've spent 39 days with Jeff Probst.

Niners won the battle on the line on both offence and defence. And oh but for 4 dropped passes...........

Yeah, the Northwest weather can be lovely for watching outdoor sports.

One of the main reasons I'm influencing the girls to partake in indoor winter sports.

Golden Tate might just be the cockiest average player I have ever watched.

Worst thing that happened to the Hawks is the drubbing the Niners took from New York Sunday.

San Fran isn't going to win a SB with Harbaugh pulling back on the Alex Smith reigns all year long however.

I equate Wilson to Tatupa, sure he's smart and gutsy and he may look brilliant at times, but over the long haul, there are very good reasons why small men don't play those positions.

The 'hawks receiving corp is not good.

Read a piece this morning (SI?) about Harbaugh taking the ball out of Smith's hands after the 2nd INT.

Used to be a love thing.

Now it's a love/hate thing.

As in, I still love the Cowboys but I fucking hate Jerry Jones.

Go Texans!

NFL coming your way this week, Bucs and Saints at Wembley.

Since the 'hawks played Thursday, I spent Sunday practising for the end of the lockout. I spent the day outside with the kid.

Anonymous players poll...NFL...most overrated:

1) Tim Tebow

2) Mark Sanchez

3) Tony Romo

4) Mike Vick

5) Ray Lewis

Good list.

Until they got to #5.

There's an argument to be made (due to age) but intangibles trump them.

Doug Martin for rookie of the year! Andrew Luck for rookie of the year! RG III !!!!! It's the year of the rookie.

Too bad for Ray Lewis. I hope to seem him back again but who knows? Overrated? Reminds me of another players poll in another professional sports league. :scowl:

Cam Newton having an epic sophomore jinx. Also has an epic shitty team.

Atlanta Falcons overall team game is awesome. Not bad for the Texans either.

Romo/Vick this weekend. A great time to be a corner back.

Most excited to see the Bears and Texans game today. It should be a close one.

I think the Panthers beat the Broncos in an upset win today.

I picked the Panthers to cover as well. Looks like Newton is having an epic sophmore slump that he just can't get out of. I saw post-game coverage 2 weeks ago and he looked as though he was going to burst into tears. His confidence is completely shot.

Bears/Texans game yesterday just didn't live up to the hype. I expected more from the Bears to be honest. And when Jason Campbell came in, you can see why he is no longer a starting QB in this league. His decisions were brutal.

The Hawks are definitely going to be a factor now through the playoffs - I think they should be able to get in. Dynamic, young, athletic defence, and a QB who may have the "it" factor... watch out!
