Is there a more humane way of mass processing chickens?

nope. Cleaner ways is about it.

I guess I just have less an opinion about the order of the food chain, than the hypocracy that comes from some posters...seriously, who here grows/gathers/hunts/kills/cleans/stores 100% of thier own food? you are either the bug or the windshield. The rest is semantics (semantics that smart people make money on)

how were those chicken wings the other night anyways?

as long the masses pay for food, humans will process it.

thats just the way it is.

I remember seeing a documentary, can't remember, something like 60 Minutes, years ago, about the shit that gets in our cereal during the processing. They ran a whole bunch of tests, etc. It was quite disgusting, made you want to swear off cereal forever.

Anyone seen Food Inc.? Makes a little Sea Lice seem rather harmless.

Most processed food (not just cereal) is just manufactured junk. I try to eat as little processed food as I can, and when I do, I'm reading the label before I buy.

As for the cruelty of mass produced meat products? It's a simple fact of life that we can't have it both ways.

The sad reality is business now is forever loking to make more and greater profits, automate, reduce staffing and a lot of this is propagted by unions looking for unrealistic salaries. I always get a charge when Large Companies are annoucing a disapointing profit, they're making a profit just not enough profit. The drive to reduce a labour force is basically increasing the unemplyment which means less taxes and ends up with the mess most of the western world is currently in.

If we can replace hearts, land on the moon there surely must be a more resonable way to slaughter animals. Vegatarians are become more common, most restaraunts have veg dishes now which was not the case 20-30 years ago. The industry is cutting it's own throat and demand will decline. Decency is a lost concept replaced by greed, not good

And it's all Booths fault

Hmmm, maybe because Booth eats so much game meat is part of the reason he is in such great physical shape.

Perhaps he's hunting so much this offseason is so he can provide the Canucks chefs with enough meat for the whole team!

Yet another one of Gillis' outside of the box initiatives to give the Canucks an advantage.

Gitt'r done Booth

what is the average wage of a worker in a slaughterhouse anyway, I remember back in the day it was about 6-7 bucks an hour at fraser valley duck and goose in Yarrow...is double that today too much, because thats not a realistic living wage.
