Your system setup and/or computer spec's

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

You know what is smart about greenies.

I just got a green bin for food waste. Throw all your compostables in the bin and it gets picked up once a week. No, don't bag the stuff, wrap in paper or put in brown paper bags if you wish.

So this bin of rotting veggies is not bear proof and needs to be washed out weekly. That ain't happening in the winter when the outside pipes are off. Worst is fall when the night time temp drops to -2C and daytime is 8C, or spring when the bears come out of hibernation or summer when it is 35C.

I suggest culling the idiot who set this policy, skin him and make a rug. Then fuck his wife on the rug fireside while sipping champagne.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Again, I can speak up for those hard of hearing or are just plain old, it is not the Greenies that will save you, hell even red neck righties recycle, it's the sustainable dudes that will save your ass, turn your veggie waste into biogas, use biogas to heat your home, digestate to fertilize your garden, that's what they do in India...

Are you a stupid monkey or a smart ape?

Well one must forgive one for being a tad confused:

Ask 10 different people what “Sustainability” is and receive 10 different answers amirite?

(and most answers would have the word "green" in there somewhere).

For all one knows you, old friend, are in with these Sustainability cats:

http://steadystaterevolution.org/why-do ... e-economy/

(those poor sick bastards).

But one thing is certain: Sustainability is a cause.

A lost cause, but a cause!

And as a cause it is therefore political in nature.

And as it is political it must be placed somewhere in the political spectrum.

And where else would one place Sustainability but on the left side of said spectrum amirite? :mex:

Now I understand you like to consider yourself libertarian ole bean, but I submit you are a lefty in denial. See, Global Sustainability (your cause) is never going to come about with smaller government, surely some part of yourself knows this to be true. You’re dreaming if you think mankind will ever willingly stop pursuing economic growth at the expense of consuming resources faster than they can be replaced. Nope, hidden deep down, hidden even from yourself, lurks a burning desire to see your morals, your principals, your creed... FORCED upon the world!

Spidey, from your Occupy Movement protests to your Climate Change exaggerations to your bicycling to your reality-denying Sustainabilty promotions.... you are one political animal.

A LEFTIST political animal!

(best you heard it from a friend buds)

Well either that or you’re into the above solely for the pit-hair chicks it brings....

 Man, you are Old School (Old Fool? 8-) ) No one cares about being a commie or a leftist anymore, did you not get the memo Heir Doctor? China is a Red Economic Powerhouse, they won the cold war (The USSR was NEVER communist, it was a military dictatorship (Hello USA?!) just as it is not democratic now).

Sustainability is what anyone thinks it is. If the ignorant think it's 'Green' so be it I canna not knock sense or edumakation into them. No one is forced into anything unless you have your face so far up the politico systems arse you can't see shit...but if it makes you feel better having someone to blame instead of taking responsibility for your own pathetic boring Armageddon-like life, I can't help yah budski.

It's about being smart and efficient.
A large part of my research is change behaviour or mind sets. Why do people recycle when the system is clearly not working? (plastic bottles are shipped to India to be made into slmall plastic beads only to fall into the Pacific Ocean to from a nice big toxic island and poison the fish you are eating at your fancy Joe Fortes meal :|
If you want to be an idiot and wasste your money on the same wasteful practices....be my guest...Darwin isa wait'n around the corner with a hammer and a sack ;)

Sustainability is a bit of a misnomer. Sustaining our current lifestyle just ain't gonna happen, just look at student debt for an undergrad. They are not their parents ball and chains, meaning, shared autos and no mortgages.
I'm moving more towards the movement of Resilience myself. That is the nature of my thesis. Making a local neighbourhood resilient to inevitable change either through climate, economic or political. Kinda like that new Sci-Fi show Revolution :P

Sustainability political?
Nothing could be further from the truth (and we all no your truth is Orwellian in nature).
Spidey, from your Occupy Movement protests to your Climate Change exaggerations to your bicycling to your reality-denying Sustainabilty promotions.... you are one political animal.
Dude, are you for realz?! DoubleSpeak and lies will get you nowheres (Abortionsfield?) I only banged the Occupy pagan-take'n chicks, I never started nor participated in them. Although, as a neutral observer, it is quite fascinating to see them still going on with little or no mainstream coverage. If YOUR Fox news doesn't report it it doesn't exist....change the channel once ina while (support your leftist homo CBC tax monies!). Climate Change? I never even bring that up, as a matter of fact I think I went on record here that I don't believe in Global Warming. We go from Ice Age to Warm ages naturally. The Industrial Age has had an impact on this cycle though. I mean, come on, even a moreronn could figure that one out :sly:
I own and drive a car, a rally racing Subaru Impreza so how exactly does that make me a Green cyclist? I ride my bike downtown to meetings and school to stay in shape to drink more beer (and to keep up with my young wife :D ) and to avoid the artery clogged roads (record time is 19 min w/tail wind), to tell you the truth I am probably doing a lot of damage to my lungs breathing all the crap smog but I get such an endorphin rush kicking the pants off of the kool euro shirt outfitted urban psycholists (you know the ones, they go through red lights and cut off cars) on my old fat tired Norco Kokanee mountain bike, jump'n off curbs and sprinting down the bike path with my long legs a whirl'n, pisses them right off -heh. Yesterday I had a head wind, which I hate so it took me 40 min to get to Metro Hall, The National' High Violet was a great soundtrack though (Zepplin II on the way back).

You have no scientific basis for that statement.
In fact, I would argue that if anything, sustainability is more of a religion than anything (did a paper on this).

http://www.greeningsacredspaces.net/ind ... &Itemid=41

I just organized a big Community Power and Solar Workshop at a local church. The turnout was fantastic. Churches are now getting into Solar Shares for the community. $500 gets you 5% for 10 years. Hmmmm make money in a church which no government in site.

I know it hurtz (< see wot?!) that the big bad ol' Green Dragon is making inroads into the inbreds of that there religion thingy but they don't have much of a choice now do they, if you get my/the drift. Besides, the bible, the koran, the torah all make reference to Sustainability. Just practice what they preach heh, so to speak.

Hey, check out the new PV-T, generates power AND heats water together. Awesome tech and saves you $$$. You do like $$$ Ayn Rand's bitch, don't you? :P Image

Now sun, that's what I call free market, y'hellup!

Sustainability transcends politics. It is grassroots and sometimes bypasses political levels. Apolitical?

And when I say grassroots you can insult my green rooted Eurotrash mate all you like but when it comes down to it she's not frigid like the North American variety (except maybe the Quebecois mademoiselles :towel:

Grassroots is happening on a corporate scale. They aren't waiting for government to save them through untimely or irregular regulations. (see Ontario's Green Energy Act & FIT Program).
http://bcorporation.net
Stakeholders are getting it now. Shareholder = Stakeholder. Evolve or die off (stocks dive).
When graduates go for interviews now they ask the company how sustainable it is. They better be or the honours grads go to the B-Corps.

So keep on calling all that threaten your American Dream lifestyle a pinko, if that's where you put your energy Docker so be it, me? I'd rather learn from other cultures, historical perspectives, be creative and overall, be smarter than the average bear. In other words....Evolve 8-)

Listen to your government (because they have been oh so right 8-) ) at your own peril.

We need to evolve past Democracy or Communism or left or right. What's next? We need to evolve past Capitalism or Socialism. Steady State is but one alternative. Get outta your basement and make it up as you go along instead of suck'n on your mommas teats.

It's up to you, to discover what to do with your 'waste'. It's right their in front of you. Come'n SL, you're smarter than that. Show us. Stop being an average mutt! You're a purebred my friend.

ManNilppleAteHer of the future!

I gotta admit, I'm have'n a blast right now. I even get to write and draw a strip about Sustainability where I am their puppetmaster and make the characters do my bidding moohahahahahahahahahaha!

Ummm, you guys do know that the whole Peanuts strip was about Christianity and Lucy was the temptress devil...just say'n I have a direct inside source on this.

Football is MY game, well at least in High School, now it's ball hockey although with a broken finger and sprained knee it's either time for water polo or curling (I hear you can hold your drink AND throw a rock and the same time!).

Quite right ole bean, although in my defense I haven't burnt me a witch (nor a commie) in years.

See, I've been rekindling the ole Judas Cradle idea of late.... in order to evoke conversions instead!

Works like a charm.

Unfortunately I hold the intellectual rights to neither the Judas Cradle nor "amirite". :(
As long as we're not burning Catholics I am happy, (they stopped doing that in Elizabeth I 's reign I understand.
Sounds a bit premature imho. :hmmm:

In Sweden Catholicism was illegal till 1873, albeit foreign nationals were allowed to attend mass behind closed doors within the confines of the embassies of Catholic countries. Swedes who converted from the true faith (Lutheranism) faced exile or execution though (well, at least in the 17th and 18th century). And even after Catholicism became legalized, Catholics were banned from working in medicine or teaching till 1951...

It all harks back to the Pope siding with Denmark when Sweden declared itself independent in 1523.

Mind you, we weren't part of Denmark before that either, but since 1397 we had on and off had a joint monarch ruling all of Scandinavia. A result of the marriage of Håkan Magnusson (heir to the thrones of Sweden and Norway) and Margarete, a Danish princess. Sweden, Denmark and Norway had separate laws and parliaments, but joint kings (most of the time, kings had to be elected and recognised by all three parliaments, and sometimes there were disagreements). Eventually the Danes started to think they ruled the rest, and that's when we decided to leave. Especially after the Stockholm Bloodbath. But the stupid pope kept insisting that the Danish king was the rightful ruler of Sweden as well, so then we switched to Lutheranism and kicked all Catholics out. :drink:

No wonder the pope has to cut you people loose.

Seriously though, Catholics have gotten as good as they have given when it comes to persecution.
It's just that as a rule it's been a little less violent on a wide scale since Elizabeth 1, at least in the UK and NA, the rest of the world marches to some crazy ass drummer though (Anzac excluded of course)
