Canada’s 1972 hockey triumph played role in ending Cold War, Harper says
VLADIVOSTOK, Russia — In its own way, Canada’s come-from-behind triumph over the Soviet hockey team in 1972 played a role in the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the end of communism across eastern Europe.
Hmmm so if one buys the theory that the booing in Vancouver woke Team Canada up, spurring them on to victory.... and one buys Harper's theory above.... one could reach the conclusion that my dear ole dad (RIP) (King of the Boo Birds) brought down eastern European communism.

Turns out it was twenty years ago today,
Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play
They have been going in and out of style
unlike those checkered suits, slacks, the sideburns and pornstaches from 40 years ago
And I think Dad did the right thing, the booing woke Team Canada up.
Twas booing killed the beast.
