The Final Nail in the Hockey Experience Coffin

Post by ClamRussel »

Hockey fans have had to put up with alot over the years.

Watching the game that meant so much on a cultural level be sold out to corporate self-interests & high end greed.

Seeing every square inch be splattered with advertisements (to allow their team to "compete" in the market place) while ticket prices soared well beyond the reach of the common die hard fan.

Meanwhile large sections of lower bowl seats remain empty and unused...but paid for.

Classic arenas with character and history torn down to be replaced by plastic soul-less modern venues named after banks and big pharma.

$10 beer.

Bettman.

Canned music cranked at every stoppage in play.

Jumbotrons to tell the crowd when to cheer.

But at least the Canucks didn't have to resort to using sex to sell a game (that is already sold out for 400+ straight games) like Dallas and Chicago have to.....at least we don't have 90lb tarts cheerleading at games.....we don't need to resort to such tacky gimmicks right? ....at least the Vancouver fan has one last shred of dignity left....

Until next season that is. Its over. Bring on the CANUCKETTES.

I shit you not.

hotties on skates?

Trust me, it is hard to complain about scantily clad babes...but on this one, I shake my head.
They showed up at the Rypien memorial....scantily clad.

Ryp was from the city that rhymes with fun.

He would understand the tarts...

Balance for the Kesler photo shoot.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I'd rather have the Canuckettes than the ear-blowing music they play at every non-hockey playing moment. I'm not against head-banging music, my first concerts was Ozzy back in the 80s, but at the game it's pure torture...more ladies, less eardrum assaults, that would be the start of my new CBA! :)

I could live with that that trade-off.

Hockey, Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll. Not necessarily in that order...

I remember, too, when the Lions replaced their cheerleaders with a 'dance team'....

Who makes these decision?

A fan union could be a very powerful thing........but there is zero chance of it getting off the ground to accomplish anything. People in general are too stupid and too selfish to unite to bring about change.

You can't even get the retards of today's society together to boycott gas prices and bring about market correction. People really don't realize the potential of a people's union and they never will. A crack pipe dream .

Agree 100% that the NHL has sold its soul to the devil (fantastic post btw).

So yes, might as well bring on the CANUCKETTES.

Besides, the Lingerie Football League and women’s beach volleyball are fun to watch, so....
