At a good salary not the stupidity being offered/suggested here and they are reportedly asking for.
I understand we are all, blessed/cursed with the WASP mentality but is the money coming from your pockets ? and do we have the Cap space to cover the cost of Doan ? and I think the answer is respectively NO & YES
+1
As soon as Canuck fans give money to the organization (be it from buying tickets to the game, buying food/drinks at Roger's Arena, buy a jersey...etc), that money belongs to Aqualinni and Co - what they decide to do with it should be none of your concern. If you don't like how they are spending the money you give them, then stop supporting the team.
If you gave your friend $1000 to help him out with some bills and he went out and blew it all at the casino, how likely are you to give him money the next time he asks? Same thing applies here.
For all you know, that $500 you dished out for tickets, parking, food, beer and a Canuck Flag could have gone to pay Fin's salary, yet nobody complains when Fin doesn't come to visit them at the arena...
For everyone else who goes on a rant about the Sedins, Kesler, Burrows, Bieksa, Hamuis ..etc taking home-town discounts to play here so the team can be more competitive, well this is the reason they took their discounts - when the team needs to spend money to get a player that can potentially put them over the top they have the money to do so. Imagine if the Sedins were each making 7mil, Kelser signed for 6, Burrows for 3.5, Hamuis for 6 - we wouldn't even be talking about Shane Doan. The team would have had a hard enough time to re-sign Cory Schneider.
