2012 Summer Olympics

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

2012 Summer Olympics

Post by CFP! »

10 days to go.

Not quite as excited as the 2010 olympics but am looking forward to the cycling/rowing events as usual.

We'll see how the spleenless BMX'r does, and the concussion forehead in swimming.

Hope to see Ryder in the top 10. van Koeverden in the top 2 as well.

Yeah go Merican sprinters!

Here's the full schedule: http://www.london2012.com/schedule-and-results/

Sweden and Canada are in the same group in women's football (along with Japan and South Africa).
Looking forward to the showdown on July 31st!

8-)

The weather here in London has been terrible for months now. Constant rain, cloud, windy weather. Normally this time of year is decent and reasonably warm. This is the worst summer since I moved to the UK in 2004.

I hope the Canadian media remember this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/audio/2 ... er-no-snow . Its a good time to for Vancouver media to do what it does best, be petty and take cheap shots.

At least Vancouver could ship in snow. You can't buy sunshine.

And you caught the bait.

You know, I saw a piece on him and his donations etc and he seems pretty chill.. Good to see him giving back even when he isn't signing a $100m contract.

Why the amateur Olympians dont make more money is beyond me.

Uhm, because they're amateurs, perhaps?

All I'm interested in is the USA basketball men's bball team. *showtime!*
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Ok, so who's this spleenless BMXr? As a fellow splenectomy, I have to root for them.

Does that mean you rooted for the Avalanche when Forsberg played? :o

I rooted for Forsberg only after he had his spleen taken out.

Japan beats Spain??? In football? Wow!
OK, in the women's tournament that'd be logical, but in the men's?
Now that's an upset.

I blame the shirts.
The Spanish players were probably too embarassed to be able to focus on the game.

Gotta say that DQ rule about the sprinters putting their little toe on the lane line can kiss my ass!
