Possibly, and I'd be happy as heck if that is what we got. Great shot. Sound defensively, and 35 points a season like clockwork. The only negative I have about Aucoin was summed up as "the quietest 35 points you'llnever see by a defensman", as in he hit lots, but not hard, and was typically invisible, both on his points offensively, but more importantly, no "Special Ed" moments of defense. Anything more is a bonus, imo.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

Oakie, in his prime, would be a welcome addition to the club.

His throwback to the old fashioned non-exploding sticks would be OK too. How many sticks a game is Edler averaging?

Kudos to a BC guy that comes back to his home province - without raising the pirate flag. 8-)

I was pretty bummed that we didn't land Schultz because who wouldn't want a bonus blue chip prospect, but not landing Garrison or somebody similar this off season who can play on Edler's right side would have been a disaster. Garrison at a $4.6M cap hit this off season is likely a great deal.

Schultz is a project that may work out...Garrison is a sure thing that will work out...its sorta like taking a prostitute on a date...you know you are gonna get laid...

Exactly...even if we would have landed Schultz, we would have needed a guy like Garrison anyway.

Here's to Schultz flopping!

Here's to Schultz developing nicely, hating Edmonton and demanding a trade to Vandouver (I mean, it's what the dude does right?) after his two years are up.
DeLevering since 1999.

Perfect scenario. Schultz gets knocked around for 2 years, underachieves and then becomes a UFA. At which time he signs for less money just to play in his home province.

It seems counter-intuitive, but Schultz will be an RFA after the 2 years are up.

He was a full UFA before signing his entry-level deal, and that allowed him to pick whatever team he wanted. But once he's in, he's in.

Tanev is/was a similar situation for us.
