Jensen heading to SEL ??

Jensen already has two years of "North American" hockey under his belt. At this stage, he should have a pretty good grasp of the style.

It's a different style of game over there and Jensen will adjust to the style of game that is played over there and then when he comes back he'll have to adjust again. The fact that Jensen showed he can translate his game to the AHL and even the NHL suggests that the OHL is a good developmental league for Jensen. Then again, going into the draft, one negative about Jensen was that he didn't always engage himself and Jensen didn't improve his production this season so maybe Gillis saw something in Jensen's game that he felt would be better developed in Sweden. I don't know.

So Jensen will go to Stockholm AIK is he doesn't make the Canucks out of training camp. Slightly surprised it wasn't MoDo due to the connections with that team.

Jensen will be back from the SEL, money for one thing and his father is Cdn any way so the dream I would think would be to hit the NHL. Unless the KHL trys to intervene but the KHL/NHL have agreed to no poaching of players under contract and Jensen is under contract

I get the whole 'we're cursed' thing, but really don't get the whole 'gonna stay in Europe and kick it large like Radulov' angle. This is the SEL, not the KHL. Stockholm AIK is apparently releasing Jensen to go to the Canucks camp, so it seems AIK know what the score is and are happy to have a player of his calibre for as long as they have him. He can't play in the AHL. He's apparently spinning his wheels in the OHL. This looks like a whole lotta logic, and Gillis and Co. seem to agree.

I just hope the Stockholm AIK organization provides a good developmental environment for Jensen so he's not stalling his development into a pro player.
