F*ck, f*ck, f*ck why couldn't we win one for Sami in 2011?

There goes my favourite current Canuck, probably one of my all-time faves really. Despite the drop-off in play last year, I was really hoping to see him back in the #6-7 mentoring spot....can't blame him for taking the dough and the term, I suppose.

Gonna miss watching that bomb from the point.

So far this day has been nothing but a kick in the nuts :(

Balls of Steel! Balls of Steel!

Sad to see Sami go, but he really seemed to have lost a step.

I just keep waiting for MG to make some magic happen. So far... nothing.

MG has been strangely quiet today. Wonder what he's got cooking. Maybe nothing?

Chris Tanev, the floor is yours.

Edler-Tanev has the potential to be a very solid pairing.

Tanev will get his shot, unless Gillis does something significant.

Ha ikr, usually he's stocking the farm team or something by now.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

For some reason this scares the crap out of me... probably mostly because of Edler.

Edler continues to develop.

Eventually he'll grow out of his bambi moments.

AV's favourite DMAN of all time signed with Dallas.
Aaron Rome agrees to 3 year deal with Dallas Stars.

Agreed. That pairing scares the stool right out of me too. Anybody else getting a little nervous about the blueline with all the other depth names going elsewhere? Allen coulda been had and wouldn't have looked too bad at his current contract.

I would have thought Gillis would have signed a name tough guy like Tootoo or somebody like that. Not much left to be had in that department IMO.

Gillis had better be cooking up a lulu of a trade, because outside of a couple of big-name UFAs a shallow pool is only getting shallower.

the ufa pool was shallow to start with.

players are getting WAY too much for what they bring to the table.

Or, we start the season with
Hammer, KB3
Edler, Tanev
Sauve, Cannauton
Corrado?

Leaving AV no choice but to play the young'ns.

If that's the starting line-up in October, you may as well just take one more year off the team's window for contention. That line-up doesn't scare me, it just depresses me. That's a pre-season roster and I would want a refund if that was the best Gillis could muster for a reg season game.

Besides, you know that would just mean that AV would play the top 2 pairings even more. At least Sauve and Connaughton would have awesome seats to the games.

Brodeur stays with the Devils - 2 years at 4.5 per.

Another goalie back off the market.

And they re-signed Hedberg to a 2 year deal.

Apparently the Devils aren't interested in looking to the future in their crease as now is the perfect time to bring in some youth and let Brodeur play the role of mentor for his last couple of years.

Hradek also saying to not be surprised is Parise signs back with the Devils. Inside info? No idea as he could just be parroting what we all know...Parise will choose NJ if they can come up with a reasonably competitive offer.
