Happy Anniversary Corner!

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Happy Anniversary Corner!

Post by ODB »

Can you believe this weekend will mark a year since the Centrailies made the migration to the Corner?

Ok, I’m being 100% sincere here... I like the Corner more than Central. I always thought the mean nature of the Centrals open forum was a selling point but after a year of relative peace I see the internet can be fun without killing each other.

And... believe it or not I’ve been posting at the Corner for a year and to the best of my knowledge Bryan hasn’t fielded a single complaint about me. I know I haven’t been warned to “cut it out” by any of the mods. I don’t even think I’ve had any of posts edited by a mod. Oh I did, my pic of a nude GM playing tennis was taken down.

Besides if we’re honest, we know we’re getting away with approaching the line at times. Lots of little pokes still goes on. Which is fun!

So waaa, thanks for having us Bryan, Mods and Corner old timers. I hope you agree the migration worked. The old timers, mixed in with the newbies has resulted in the content on the boards become better than ever.

So happy anniversary mammyrammers.....

Wottsa Central?! 8-) Well to you Israelites it's an anniversary, to the earlier refugees it's nada butt I do agree, after a tumultuous start it has settled into a fantastic place to discuss the game (with a few hidden gems ;) ).
I love every move Jim Benning makes 8-)

I think that the Great Migration has worked out well.

The site has some great discussions now and the "little pokes" seem to stay mostly within tolerances.

Happy anniversary, Ex-centralites.

As you know I wasn't very happy with Central for the last coupla years, despite all the wonderful killing. :D

The Corner today reminds me of Central years ago, minus the killing.

For wotever reason, the killing doesn't seem necessary over here.

So I've taken up needlepoint.

Seriously, most of the killed folk were no doubt reborn under new handles amirite?

But enough about "killing".

The new and improved Corner kills!

I'm thinking a migration such as this wouldn't usually work out.

It takes adjustment on the part of the immigrants and patience on the part of the hosts.

So... good job people!!

Anyone remember when Chris tried to bring all those kiddies from some other site he ran??

Complete failure, although I think they rejected us more than we rejected them.

Alotta old pervs hitting on the sudden influx of young chicks!

*looks at SB* :hmmm:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY FELLOW CORNERITES!!!

White Noise.

I notice that a number of Cornerites don't post much anymore nor did they during the season.

Clam for instance.

Not that long ago I spent about three seconds wondering if "you know who" has jumped off a building yet?

LOL

Near my last days at Central I mentioned that debacle and almost immediately got a nasty pm from a security guard. It was a site his wife to be hung out on. A place far too free with personal info for the OF attack dogs. If it hadn't been separated, it would have gotten very messy.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Well my good buddy Clam for sure, I noticed he put up a post the other day, first in months.

Clam was a Centralite who left us years ago of course, so maybe he doesn't like some of you.

*looks at SB* :hmmm:

Alotta the other folk never did seem to post much before we got here though

(I just pointed out on the HT board that CaptainTrev has 14 posts in 7 years). :D

Note that the posting of other old Cornerites has skyrocketed since we got here.....
