..another reason is Luongo has a massive ego and if he were the guy to finally take TO to the playoffs in his first year he would enjoy hero worship status.

Which I'm thinking, he's kinda thinking, would be pretty damned cool.

If he steals a post season round!!

A God.

.... a LuonGod. :D

Pretty sure Burkie knows his ass is grass if the Leaves don't make the post-season next year.

Pretty sure Burkie knows the Leaves don't make the post-season next year without a Top Ten goalie.

There's a good chance Burkie will overpay for LuonGod.

But there's a possibility he is-able-to and wants-to sign Vokoun.

If not the Leaves and Burkie are fucked and that's a good thing amirite? :mex:

Do you folks honestly expect Lou to backup Reimer?

Luongo deals poorly with traffic
Dion, Komisarek, Lyles, Schenn, Gunnarsson, Gardiner

Dog pile with the pylons.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I agree on the ego.

I don't agree that that is enough to sway his decision to go to TO though.

If had any money I'd put it all Luongo never becoming a Leaf.

Francois Allaire and Cheeseburger Nonis are there... They need a goalie and have nobody to challenge him. Like others have said...his ego could get a massive stroking before he even makes his first save.
Plenty of tire pumpers to make him feel better!

Those are the best, they're the ones that can give you a chance to win it all. 7 guys. Yet some posters want Luc Schenn? No I want Hedman and a 1st. Or give me Stamkos. I don't know what Gillis will do but I can't see enough value on the Leafs for any kind of trade to be made.

If Schneider is on that list you should add Elliot, Price, Thomas, Kipper.

And get real, if Stamkos was on the block, he's getting Schneider, Edler, Jensen and a first round pick from us (and I'd do it.)

I disagree with your goalie assessments. Thomas is already 38 and Kipper will be 36 when the season starts. Both of them are not going to last much longer at the top. Price might be your choice as a top 'tender but he's not one of mine and Elliot, once again sorry but I disagree.

As for your theory of what teams won't bid for Luo's or Schneider's services, I'm not in agreement with that either. When you only have a short list of top guys, every team will look at what they have and then at what they might have to give up. I still feel that to win the cup you have to have a top guy and that applies to every team. That is of course if they are trying to win.

I'm wondering what the problem is with Luke Schenn as a piece coming back.Hes only 22, has excellent toughness and has been a pretty decent prospect up until he went pro. He cant be that bad already just from wearing the maple leaf can he????

Burkie could always package some of his other useless players, that the Canucks don't want, to some other GM'S that are on shaky ground to replenish what he gives up for Luongo...

the only thing wrong with Schenn is his mobility, he can't keep up with the faster pace, kind of like Cody Hodgson, just lacking the half step to compete....

I've thought along those lines to and then i read where Randy Carlyle said that when Beauchemin returned to Anaheim his confidence had been completely destroyed and couldn't make a simple pass. I think as a young D that's what may have happened to Schenn. There's a good player still there but needs resurrecting
cheers

Well I've been pushing for Schenn since just before the deadline.

Buy low is my philosophy.

If he was playing to his potential = unavailable.

As it stands, we could get Schenn-plus in a Lou trade.

Plays the RS, hits like a truck, sticks up for his mates.

Me likes.

(plus = 5th overall??)

(plus = Colborne??)
