What if AV busted out his own trap system of yore that won him the Jack Adams?

Gillis would probably fire him in a second but for shits and giggles, if employing the old defensive system won us a cup in the next few years would you be able to suffer through it long enough to actually give a shit about it by the time we won? Seeing some of the other playoff teams, and their assistant coaches, I wonder if MG will get AV another assistant coach or two.

If AV is a defensive specialist, one type of coach that might be worth their cost would be an offensive forward coach, ie a "power forward" coach. Someone who could bring out the potential in our power forwards. Of course, we only really have two power forwards (excluding Kessler)...I am thinking Booth and Kassian....but someone needs to take them in hand and help them reach their potential. And maybe they could have a go at Raymond as well.

Maybe AV can use the extra time to teach Henrik and Daniel how to play a little better defensively, and can figure out how to cut down on the short handed goals against.

A power forwards coach is a great idea. Perhaps MG can look into getting a power forward skills and development coach to complement Gagner. Everyone wants Gary Roberts but I think he likes what he is doing. As for assistant coaches what about Rick Tocchet? Can't think of two many guys in coaching right now who would seem qualifed to be a power forward coach. Adam Deadmarsh is in Colorado but I don't think he's coming here.

Yeah i know a missed opportunity last year but whoever coatches is going to have to figure out how to play agaist the central division or pacific with the exeption of the Sharks.
