No kidding . I feel joy at knowing both those teams are out. I will feel even better if Ottawa can steal on tomorrow.
The only HW the Canucks need

Exactly. One more upset and the world will be right again. Go Sens!
It would also be great to see a million rats chucked onto the ice to close out the first round.

Both out, just made my play-offs at least a little bearable. To watch Tea Party Thomas give up that juicy rebound was fantastic. I was hoping he was going whiff on a shot from the centre-line though. Or better yet have a long shot go off Marchand's nose and past Thomas.

I only feel slightly happy. After all, the harsh reality is that both teams beat us in the past to win the Cup

It must be hard for a racist to be scored on in game 7 OT by a black guy.
It appears Boston has the most difficulties with teams that haven't travelled 3 times more and can ice a relatively healthy lineup.
It also appears Chicago has a hard time competing in the playoffs when their opponent is on to their food poisoning game plan.

Have to admit I smirk a little knowing these teams have lost.
Then I take a quick look and realize just where the NHL is headed (as if it wasn't obvious). Depending on what happens in the last two series it could turn out that the lower scoring team (GF in reg season) wins each first round match up.

I'm assuming you mean Bettman.....but how exactly is this a nightmare for him?Eddy Punch Clock wrote:I'll bet you are.the Dogsalmon wrote:this is very good...i am rather happy about it...

Vancouver, Detroit, Boston, San Jose, Pittsburgh, and Chicago are all out. None of them, with perhaps the exception of San Jose, will have any trouble filling the seats next year. Crosby's early exit might not have been at the top of his list, but it lets him rest easy with the explaination that anything can happen in the NHL.
Washington, Phoenix, LA, St. Louis, Philly, and Nashville, have all moved on to round two. Philly will alway get fans and have support, LA likely will too, but the other four teams, especially Nashville and Phoenix, are Bettman's expansion babies. This year's playoffs are a dream come true for him. The remaining two series are of no concern, and actually a win/win for Bettman. NYR and Ottawa are whatever, both teams always fill the seats, so who cares really. The other series means that either Florida gets into the second round, and they need that badly, or Bettman's good buddy Lou watches his team advance. So Gary is sitting around and just loving this.

heh, and since they already got colin's kid the cup, why the hell not give it to one of his expansion babies.

I won't be surprised to see LA and NY in the finals.
