hmmm...
First of all, UKCanuck, remember the helmet doesn't really prevent the concussion in an open-ice hit. You could be wearing an F1 helmet. If your head gets decelerated to zero and further accelerated in the direction of the impacting object, your brain slams into your skull at the impact edge and possibly back into the trailing edge as well (coup contrecoup). That he popped right up IS a good sign, though.
Second, we all know that the second hit, post-concussion, is the really serious one. Ask Mr. Crosby and Mr. Savard. This series hasn't been particularly dirty, but shit happens. If Daniel is not ready, I hope he is just practicing to throw a little distraction at the media.

He's actually quoted saying this? Yikes. It's one thing to do it, it seems another altogether to admit it to the media.
