Twas the first day of playoffs, and Eddy he frowned,
In hoping Roberto, under pressure would not drown.
The brain of a Swedish twin they handled with care,
In hopes that on Hanks wing, soon he’d be there.

The fans were uncertain, with doubts in their heads,
And dropping out early, a legitimate dread.
Kes with his game face and Booth being giddy,
While spooner tried to hear, any word from his kitty.

All through the city, not much of a clatter,
Royaldude could sure tell us, what was the matter.
dhabums asks if Raymond will do more than flash,
And actually score to support all that dash.

Will the power play show us, some new fangled tricks,
To counteract goaltending by a netminder Quick.
Will Lappy continue his offensive flair,
Giving Kassian ice time, will the coaching staff dare?

Hamhuis, Salo and Edler, our defensive core,
Who along with Bieksa, will they have one game more.
rats, Per, herb and the Centrals, to the Corner we came,
To watch our Canucks, win 16 playoff games.

Now Burrows! Now Higgins! Now Sammy and Hansen,
Let us not be the team, who pays these Kings ransom.
At the top of the league, during regular seasons we sit,
But a post season we must win, to be considered legit.

As Spidey quaffs ales, to help with the stress,
And as Widow agrees that lever was her best.
Miyagi knows, with Hank, Ohdee and Doc,
We all want just one Cup, don't forget aaron or Spock.

As the clock it strikes noon, of our long playoff run,
Reefer was heard to say, we must win game one!
Cory Schneider is ready to supplement Luo,
While Tater and Coco, stick with Roberto all the way through.

While Gillis sits back, awaiting the game,
The uncertainty lingers, the atmosphere tame.
We don’t know what will happen, Farhan very leery,
As Canuck fans we know, the end generally teary.

Topper, VPete and Lotus, S_C, Rayxor and Saint,
Do we follow superstitions, so their luck we won’t taint?
Will AV play Ballard, is it Bitz or Dale Weise,
Just win game number one, take some stress away please.

Yet the team speaks no word of substance, and are ready for work,
And we’re here to support them, our duty not shirked.
Mathonwy and wiener, Tanev and Rome,
Can rest easily knowing, all game 7’s at home.

We have the experience, we have health and might,
And no one should minimize, the goal in our sights.
The team ready as any, for this tournament again,
To get to the Finals, but this time to win.

The rest of the fans, dbr, the rest of the team,
Can we imagine, that Stanley Cup gleam?
The Cup we can win it, we must fight the good fight,
And support our Canucks, loud and proud…

..to do this is right!
DeLevering since 1999.

Bravo, donny.

Donny, I tip my cap to your excellence.

Poetry is not my strong suit, so I'll defer to Whitman to encompass the joy and pain of eventually attaining hockey's holy grail.

O Captain ! my Captain ! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eye the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring

Nicely done donald.

I'm about ready to get this party started. Got a playoff game myself though this evening but will head up to the bar at Planet Ice as soon as we're done to catch the conclusion of the Nucks game.

This year we will win it all as the family will not be headed out of town just as the finals are to commence.

To Blobby and Lister, Keyser, Rumsfeld and others,
Wouldn't have missed you, given my druthers,
One more thing to say, which couldn't be deeper,
C'mon Canucks...

Let's win one for creeper!

Just need to get Cherry to read that before tonight's game.

Nice work!

Are the original Canucks Central logs still around?

It would be interesting to see all the old poems that were posted back in the day.

A sincere thanks Leves. Now I'm ready.

Have my ears mistaken me? I must be going insane.
I think I heard my cat speak. He looks to be in pain.
"I am indeed", says he, "these Canucks are my bane
But alas, I am hooked for life, I simply can't abstain
...So here we go again boys... here we go again."

O'er the blueline then the red
T'ward offensive zones we tread
Onward til six-teen
When all our foes are dead

Dark and lonely on a summer's night.
Kill Mike Murphy. Kill Mike Murphy.
Watchdog barking. Do he bite?
Kill Mike Murphy. Kill Mike Murphy.
Slip in his window. Break his neck.
Then his house I start to wreck.
Got no reason. What the heck?
Kill Mike Murphy. Kill Mike Murphy.
C-I-L-L Mike Murphy!

There once was a team from Vancouver
Their powerplay could not maneuver
We cannot blame Lou
But they’re still down by two
And Spooner needs pet stain remover

And now they head to King’s castle
Can Schneider be a big hassle?
The queens shall not score
If the redhead shuts the door
But to whom will the lone Sedin pass to

Will the game tonight be relieve’n?
Or will us Canuck fans be greive’n?
However bad things may seem
As Farhan trades the whole team
I know that blue is what I believe in
