The thing is BD, everyone slagged the Sedans (<see wot) and Hodgson when they were 'projects' and first started playing on the team, so cut the guy some slack is all, pick on someone your own size and mob....like Luongooooooooooooooo

We already got skill with or without Hodgson.

What we didn't have before the trade was crazy. Lappy has a lil crazy in him but nothing like Zackian. Zackian has full blown crazy in him and when opponents see it in his gap toothed face they back off. We've all seen it. Nobody in their right mind wants to go toe-to-toe with that guy.

Hodgson is a skilled player but .. he is no Jordan Staal (the best 3rd line center in the NHL) nor is he a Malholtra (his faceoff percentage is just not high enough) nor can he play wing (he's just not fast enough) nor is he a Claude Lemieux (he doesn't have a nasty streak period). He's a short, stout, playmaker that didn't really have a place on our team.

I am still not a fan that we traded for Zackian as I think that a player like a more mature Steve Ott would have been a much better fit for our team but it is what it is and I think Zackian is going to be a big part of our SC run.

Link Gaetz or whatever his name was, was considered the craziest SOB to ever lace em up, unfortunately he couldn't play hockey. Kassian can be crazy all he likes but if he can't play hockey, what good is he? Why not trade an 8th round pick for Pittsburgh's Goddard if you wanted a bad ass mean fighter? And to add, Kassian isn't exactly what you call a crazy bad ass fighter. What does looks have to do with anything, do you think a player who has made it to the NHL is gonna be afraid of a Zack Kassian? My god man, you wouldn't even make it in Major Junior if you are afraid of how one player looks. Making it to the NHL alone takes some serious brass balls.

Hey Fred, I'm sure you have heard this many times - You can teach defense, but you can't teach skill.

The NHL is littered with forwards who failed to grasp the significance of defense and for that matter littered with coaches who failed to communicate those skills

I understand what you're saying, here's another maxum for centre icemen First out and first back...Cody didn't have that sort of speed IMO He had a chnace in Vcr where the first guy back becomes the centre. This guys family really screwed him IMO.

I'm not sure Kassian has been the same since his long suspension ( 20 games ) in the OHL. That was one of Buffalo's concerns he wouldn't fight.

I have been underwhelmed by the Zack for sure. That said the kid has some nice assets. He's a good skater, has a heavy shot, handles the puck well and he is ok defensively. He is just a fucking kid for fuck sakes. He's already strong as a bull at age 21 and if people hadn't noticed since his arrival this team seems to have grown a couple inches.


Yes he is still a project but he still is a better player than Bitz. I know you are trolling because you find it fun, but for the people that actually believe that Bitz is a better player they are idiots. Fred probably watches hockey with his guide dog considering the amount of shit he is spewing.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing both Bitz and Kassian on the 4th line and bumping Manny to the 13th forward unless this team starts getting shredded in the dot.

I drink in the tri cities area Pac B..... no need for an impaired charge. We used to play rock , paper, scizzors to see who had to drive home back in the day.

No way in hell this team's future is as bleak as Calgary's. They are a mess. I will agree that neither team has great prospects, but Calgary doesn't even have a decent player under 30 other than Mark Giordano and the way overpaid Jay Boumeester. It will take 5 years to turn that mess around.
