Scuderi and Mitchell are solid players in their own right, but when both are in your top 4, your D is slooowww, and to top it off, Greene is on the 3rd pair.
Then you have Penner up front, who is a joke.
So, 4 key players, spread through the line-up, playing between 13-22 minutes each.
It's especially bad when players like Kopitar, Carter and Brown, who are good and can skate, are not burners.
There are lots of good pieces on that team, but Lombardi needs to get away from his conservative approach and embrace the speed of today's game. If he adds good supplementary players with speed, especially another top 4 D to bump Scuderi to the 3rd pair, and moves Greene for a more mobile depth defenceman, then the Kings can be a real dangerous team.
Otherwise, like Blob said, they might win a round against the right opponent, but against a top end team with speed like Van, it'll be over in 5, maybe 6 at most.
