I don't think there is any conspiracy at all. Chicago is just a dirty, dirty town.

I cringe and take Cold Fx just flying over it!

We kept Kesler as 2nd line centre (strangely comfortable with that)

Well as long as you are "strangely comfortable" with a three time Selke nominee (and one time winner) as the 2nd line centre.

Not sure if the locals are spoiled or are on a paint thinner party.

i know.....who wouldn't want Crosby, Malkin, Toews and Staal up the middle .

Sergei Fedorov in 1998.

And yes - I realize that this was during the pre-lockout pre-cap era, but the fact of the matter is that Detroit steam rolled teams with their amazing depth at center and ability to roll 3 stupendous lines.

In the Canucks' case......if we had to trade young players/prospects, etc. for Lecavlier then I would say "hell no." However, we wouldn't in this case. We would simply be trading away a player that plays a position that we are already solidified in.......and we'd be keeping Corey Schneider.

Lets face it: If the Canucks had a chance to move Luongo for a reasonably good player that could help us significantly, it's Lecavlier. As overpriced as Lecavlier would be, we would absolutely steam roll teams with our ability to throw 3 lines. And again - if we're trying to help mold guys like Kassian and Schroeder into becoming better hockey players at a quicker pace, then it's much better to put him with a guy like Lecavlier as opposed to someone like Lapierre or Malhottra.

If Luongo could fetch us something much better than Lecavlier than by all means, go for it.........but I dont think he would.....given his age and cap hit.

1) Couldn't one argue that Pahlsson is just as "unadaptable" as Hodgson but for entirely different reasons? Neither guy can really play wing, and as "unfit" as Hodgson would be in a shutdown role, Pahlsson is just as "unfit" to be counted on to score goals.....just incase there were injuries and someone needed to step up. Long story short - I think both players are equally "limited" for different reasons.

Pahlsson may be "unfit" to be counted on to score.....in the regular season. In the playoffs with the Anaheim in 2007 Pahlsson had 12 points in 20 games. That would have put him 5th on our team in scoring during last year's playoff run. And we played 25 games last spring. 5th on the team is pretty good for a 3rd line SHUTDOWN center.....no?

Those 12 points he picked up in the playoffs what, 5 seasons ago has been pretty much his regular season grand total average since then. She-ite, how many dudes have we seen light it up out of the blue for reasons unknown to hockey mankind and then to completely drop off the face of hockey earth there after? Pahlsson is one of them. She-ite when we picked him up he had an amazing grand total of 3 goals and like 6 assists. But the stat that kills me with Pahlsson is how he has been a minus player in 11 of his 12 NHL hockey seasons. My only explanation for that is, is that due his inability to put up points he is unable to counter his goals against when on ice. Personally, I think that CoHo's 16 goals here in his limited amount of ice time were good defense in itself when compared to Mr. no offense - Sami Pahlsson.

I think exactly what we need right now dan bob rick is offense, not defense, and besides, with the way we've been getting outshot lately, I believe it's goaltending that is saving us and not defense. Unfortunately for Lou and Ginger, we have no offense to cushion a lead that makes their job a little bit easier.

Curious to know if some of that 'evaluation' you seem to be a fly on the wall on involved the fact that we could only score 8 goals in 7 games?

Meh. Good points Lever. Isn't Vinny injured right now though (which explains his low point total).

Ok, fuck Vinny, lol.

And RD says Hank is #trending the wrong way.

His cap hit is 7.7 per until 2016.

Luongos is 5.3.

You have an accounting degree so I don't need to tell you the difference there.

:P

I dunno but I'm thinking we could probably use some of that extra dough to re-up guys like Burr and Edler.

That's just me though...

(and yes I spotted your reference...like Vinny)

First of all, 8 goals in 7 games is wrong. It should 8 goals in 6 games or 12 goals in 7 games.

Last 7 games

FINAL CBJ (3) - VAN (4)
FINAL VAN (0) - MIN (2)
FINAL VAN (1) - CHI (2) OT
FINAL VAN (2) - DAL (1)
FINAL VAN (3) - COL (2) OT
FINAL LAK (0) - VAN (1)
FINAL COL (0) - VAN (1)

Canucks was 12 GF and 10 GF in the last 7 games or 8 GF and 7 GA in the last 6 games. If you want to magnify the problem, the Canucks only score 2 goals in the last two games... but gave up nothing...

If you take out the first two games against Columbus and Minnesota (non-playoffs teams), the Canucks have a 4-1 record against playoffs (or trying to make the playoffs) teams.
