I think you were actually advocating Shut Down Hockey™ back then....my, how times change...RoyalDude wrote:If memory serves me correct, I think my first post was responded to in a negative manner. I can't even remember, wasn't the internet back then called Netscape? And the big search engine Webcrawler?

lol
Now there is a happy looking group. Even the fans without the bags appear positively downtrodden.
That is what I imagine RD looks like on his couch watching the Canucks.

I pictured him sitting on the floor on some filthy mexican blanket watching the game on his b/w set with the rabbitt ears.
The Blobcat is feeling it already today.
day off
home project
lunch at the pub
fridge full of beer
pre rolled gaggers
Canucks game on the tube tonight
buddies stopping by
Oh it's true.
You've been warned.

Probably not, but it looks to be multi-use.Blob Mckenzie wrote: Does he have a slip cover or a throw cushion for that unit ?
When a final conniption expires the ticker it turns into a pull-out casket.

I was just thinking the same thing, the morbid Dude probably designed the ultimate living couch potato lifestyle w/built-in coffin mode...for easy disposalcoco_canuck wrote:Probably not, but it looks to be multi-use.Blob Mckenzie wrote: Does he have a slip cover or a throw cushion for that unit ?

My first post resulted in an out right flame fest with a poster named VanFan (aka Brian Wawryshyn).
I think this other guy named EddiePunchClock was also involved but he then spent the next 5 years apologizing for his uncharacteristic behavior.
Oh and Mëds... I hate you now !

Very early in your posting tenure I remember a pretty heated Murray Baron debate as well.Potatoe1 wrote: My first post resulted in an out right flame fest with a poster named VanFan (aka Brian Wawryshyn).
That is when the "old guys" comment came out leading to shuffleboard and Angie Dickinson.

Can't remember what my first post on Canuckscentral was, but I think I got shat on by Tiger Williams pretty bad.Potatoe1 wrote:My first post resulted in an out right flame fest with a poster named VanFan (aka Brian Wawryshyn).

I think it had to do with me being disappointed by the Pavel Bure deal (I thought we would've been better off going with Malhottra, Cloutier, Sundstrom), but I got criticized rather harshly that Ed Jovanovski was a tremendous pick up and a that I had no idea how to assess talent. (I think my counter argument was that he gave up a lot more than just Bure)
It turned out that he was right, and the deal actually wasn't too shabby, but I just thought his reaction was a bit......much, lol.....especially for a guy that was secretly the moderator of the site.
Re: Does anyone here remember their very first post?
I remember the days when every thread was either started by or the most recent post was made by Tiger Williams.
Also the Rivals days he would go to the site of a team we were playing that night and stir things up (not in a GM way however) a bit to get some pre and post game action over at Central.
I think thats how Wildfaerie showed up from the Red Wings Rivals site??
