Competition for probable FA Schultz could be fierce. He looks NHL ready for next season & fits a hole in our lineup. Here's hoping Tanev can help this season.

The MAG trade, and the need to get him games to prevent UFA status, has complicated testing of young D before the playoffs.

I want Schultz too, but he's also a Right handed shot, so it's unlikely he'll be paired with Tanev.

Man how did I miss that.... my bad. But frankly that makes him even more valuable just can't have enough righties.

In all honesty I know there's a number of posters lamenting our scouting but some of those players coming along are looking pretty good in a couple of years time. Jensen, Lack, Corrado, Rodin, McNally, Labate, Connauton, Price, Anderson, Sauve, Cannata, Grenier, Schroeder, Kassian all young and there surely has to be a couple in that bunch.
cheers

It's really difficult to fully evaluate a team's prospect pool.

I think it's safe to say the Canucks aren't stocked up with high-draft pick with pedigree, but it's premature to write off the players you mentioned. It seems the lack of highly drafted players in the Canucks system is the basis for where the organization is ranked.

I agree that at least a couple will end up being at least decent players, and I also agree that people who are down on our prospect pool are jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly.

This is Gillis' 4th year as GM, and typically, you need to wait 5 years from the date of a draft to get at least a somewhat proper appreciation of how a team fared in a given draft.

Just wondering if anyone else realized that Schneider is 5th in GAA and 2nd in SV% with a .937.....just so everyone knows, that SV% is only .001 below the great Timmy Thomas' record setting SV% from last year.

While Brian Elliot is having a crazy season, and he has played 6 more games than Schneider, I'd like to point out that he has only faced 37 more shots in that 6 games. Schneider generally faces that in a single game.
