Gassian does look lost out there. But I think with a summer of rigorous conditioning training there's much to expect next season from him. If the oh-prodigal-39 point-slow footed Hodgson was able to "almost" keep himself up with the team pace after two summers of work out program, I don't see any reason why the more naturally athletic Kassian won't be able to do.

On a side note, it'd be hilarious to see if the Sabres ride on a hot Miller all the way to the Cup Final and their saviour Hodgson scoring all clutching goals (unlikely)

But hey, despite Sedins and Kesler's slumps we are still one of the top teams in the league (minus the saviour Hodgson too!) What would happen if our players start producing?

lastly, Raymond still needs to go. He's accomplished plenty already in his career. He was never expected to make it here anyway.

I acutally would of liked to seen Colorodo win tonite. I would much rather play the Avs in first round rather than one of those Cali teams in Kings, Ducks, Sharks. The Avs need a lil bit of help right now, so I was hoping the Nucks would pull Lou for an empty net in OT. *LOL*

First Raymond makes a pass that is 6 feet behind Hamhuis (who would have been in all alone on Varlamov). Then Raymond has a clear look at the net on a setup from Hamhuis (who recovered the puck quickly and made a nice play), but MayRay puts it STRAIGHT INTO VARLAMOV. At least make him reach for it. I'm actually happier when he misses the net because at least the goalie had to move to make the save.

Can we bench #21 yet?

Too bad we didn't trade him for some more Meat and Potatoes like a Matt Stajan or a Jay McLement type, ya know, Daryl Sutter shut down type hockey, we could use more of that, cause offensive creativity we got loads of.

Are you actually about to say that Raymond brings offensive creativity to this lineup?

I suppose ripping up the wing and button hooking before dumping the puck to the corner, or wiring a shot at the goalie's chest 99% of the time, or getting knocked on one's ass after trying to make a play, is all marks of offensive creativity.

Would hate to see him get more tuning like the tuning he got from Staubitz a couple weeks back. The kid ain't no Lucic, so people need to lower them expectations. That being said, I agree with Island Nucklehead, fighting wins you hockey games, it's the most important part of your team.

I think your definition of "tuning" differs greatly from many other people's definition.....

I like Hrudey, but did he actually just say Hansen is a big strong guy? His nhl.comstats say 6'1, 195. That has to be wearing skates and pads and carrying a small child.

I'm pretty sure he also said he (Barrie) was 17 years old.
