I don't trust my vehicle to get me to Abbotsford let alone Vancouver. What say you pick me up in Chilliwack? You can see my scar in person.mathonwy wrote:I'm down for wherever.
Yaletown Brew Pub is typically rockin during game days but I've never been to the Black Bear.

We used to take buddy's boat up Indian Arm and hit the Raven. Back in the day I believe I waterskied in that filthy water . Are you hitting the Meet and Greet Pacific Blue ?
I'd like it if it were closer to the Picktonville area of town being the selfish prick that I am.

...the Raven took a rapid descent downhill for a bit there.
Granted I have not entered the establishment in several years so it may have taken an upswing but during the last change in ownership it definetly took a turn for the worse.
Black Bear blew it away at that point in time.

Re: Meet & Greet 2012...
Never been to the Black Bear but it looks very convincing. The circle is closing, on to new pathes and another black bear.
So i would suggest 5 pm on tuesday, april 3rd. I guess there's no need to reserve something if we're just a few people.
I'm going to check it out even if nobody out of here has the drive to come in.

Hey Cookie...Charles Bar. Good little place on Cordova between Cambie and Abbott.
Beers are between $3.50-$7 depending on your choice. There are two big screens on each side of the place (it's V shaped) and little TVs in the booths of the 'restaurant' side. The food is great! May I suggest (for the fat kid in you) the pulled pork poutine.
It's downtown, (the old Woodwards building) so it's Skytrain accessible for a few of those wanting to join in.
The GM is a good friend of mine, and even on a game day, he'll reserve a table for me if I asked. Let me know.

So LB you're ringing the bell...
I don't care.. we have to do a "democratical" decision.
Who's in for:
1. Black Bear
2. Charles Bar
Let's vote

Re: Meet & Greet 2012...
Ok.
Cookie suggested Tuesday, April 3rd.
On April 3rd, Anaheim is in town and the game starts at 7:00PM.
On April 5th, Canucks are at Calgary and the game starts at 6:00PM.
I'm partial to getting together to watch the Nucks put the boots to Cow Town but I'm easy either way.
The nominated destinations are:
1. Black Bear Pub - 1177 Lynn Valley Road, North Vancouver
2. Charles Bar - Down town Vancouver.
I live in Yaletown but am willing to travel anywhere as I see this being a fun thing to do to meet other Canucks Corner folks.
The people that have expressed interested in meeting up are:
LotusBlossom, Cookie and myself.
Anyone else?

Re: Meet & Greet 2012...
For the Albertans on the board, i'll get things started.
A central location to best accommodate everyone. Same date and time as the Vancouver meeting.
Lets say...Hanna?
I probably won't show up, so the rest of you can have a beer for me.

I'm leaving again on thursday, so tuesday is my only possibility. If we're just 3 the decision is pretty clear.mathonwy wrote:The people that have expressed interested in meeting up are:

You voted for Charles Bar and LB suggested it. Now i'm getting scared, are you trying to lure me into the golden triangle?

Why would we consider North Van?
Downtown sounds good, why not keep it easy for the people who need to travel on transit? How about St Augustines? I could just walk.

Hey it's up to Charles Bar right now. You could walk just about 5 km.
The picture will be totally different if you choose North Van, either you can walk over water or take the seabus.

Contrary to popular opinion, I can't actually walk on water.Cookie La Rue wrote:Hey it's up to Charles Bar right now. You could walk just about 5 km.
