Totally disgusted with that game. No urgency and no fire. You'd swear it was 6 on 5 all game... oh wait it was. Another BS example of reffing game management. How does Kesler take a stick in the throat without a penalty but the Minnie goalie can trip over his own fat feet and draw one.
Reffing... working as intended.
I hope during the offseason the GMs light up the NHL brass on this bs. Its not just us, all teams suffer.

Cody Hodgson tonight - 16:08 (2 assists)
Marcus Foligno tonight - 17:07 (2 goals) Now has 5 goals 2 assists in 6 games since his call-up after the Kassian trade.
Zack Kassian tonight - 7:58
Oh, apparently Foligno was drafted in the 4th round by Buffalo, the same draft as Zack Kassian who went 13th overall. Too bad we traded two 4th round picks for old man Shut Down Specialist Sami Pahlsson. Ya just never know when ya might land a gem in the 4th round like the Sabres did.

Lovin' this exciting brand of Shut Down Hockey that Gillis is putting together here.

Well we're gonna find out in two days. A trip to Chicago should be enough to get the boys up. If we mail that one I'll be concerned.Reefer2 wrote:zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Canucks hockey has been boring the past month, I hope they wake up in the playoffs or out in the 1st round.
No urgency, no creativity, no skating, no passing nyet nyet nyet.
the mistakes that all players are making is pathetic for such a veteran team.
Although, a 9-1 raping at the hands of the Blackcocks might be just what the Canucks deserve. That might be enough to wake them up.

Curious as to what Buffalo's record is since the trade as compared to ours. Anybody?

May I ask who your audience is that you're targeting with all of these intelligent and thought provoking posts you make?RoyalDude wrote:Lovin' this exciting brand of Shut Down Hockey that Gillis is putting together here.
Or what your intentions are? Is it to provoke? If so, what response are you trying to provoke? and why?
I'm seriously interested in why you keep posting the same thoughtless drivel because its not like anyone can do anything to change what's going on with the team.
You think the team would be playing different if we had kept Taylor Ellington and those two precious 4th round picks and not made the Hodgson trade?
Are you seriously that deluded? Are you a Taylor Ellington fan? Shit. Maybe you are. Damn, I'm sorry your boy got traded. Don't be so bitter about it though. It's just hockey.

No Manny ???Southern_Canuck wrote:I've read a few posters pick on Rome - however his effect on the team's outcome, when measured against the cap is as follows:
Cap = $64.3M
Percentage of Cap (and hopefully performance against cap hit)...
1. Henrik 9.5%
2. Daniel 9.5%
3. Luongo 8.3%
4. Kesler 7.8%
5. Bieksa 7.2%
6. Hamhuis 7.0%
7. Booth 6.6%
8. Ballard 6.5%
9. Edler 5.1%
10. Pahlsson 4.1%
11. Raymond 4.0%
12. Salo 3.1%
13. Burrows 3.1%
14. Higgins 3.0%
15. Hansen 2.1%
16. Alberts 1.9%
17. Lapierre 1.6%
18. Tanev 1.4%
19. Schneider 1.4%
20. Kassian 1.4%
21. Rome 1.2%
Ummm.. could we slow down on the criticism of the 21st most important player on the Canucks, and zero in on the top 20?

By your logic though, Raymond should be at least an average player on this team considering his salary. We may have seen the last of him in the lineup come playoff time. I would rather see Andrew Ebbett get a shot than Raymond.

I see the canucks lost, jeepers, looks like it will cost us the 2 seed...oh, it won't, okay, see you at playoff time. After last year, winning the pres trophy, then almost blowing a 3-0 lead in the first round and then losing the final how anyone bothers to take games at this time of the season seriously is beyond me. What happens now will have no bearing on the playoffs, win or lose...how is that not obvious?
Re: GDT : Canucks at Wild, Mar. 19 5PM PST SNET
The refs screwed that game.
The Canucks didn't play inspired. Who cares? I don't. Sure I' d like to see a win, but I'm waiting for the real season to start.
Team 1040 is ripping the team a new A hole. Even getting angry at people who think there's too much pressure on the Canucks right now. Gimme a break Media frenzy.
Schneider played well.

To answer my own question - the Sabres in 9 games since the trade are 6 wins/ 3 losses. The Canucks in 8 games since the trade are 3 wins/5 losses.RoyalDude wrote:Curious as to what Buffalo's record is since the trade as compared to ours. Anybody?

Why do you keep bringing Taylor Ellington up? I ain't. I'm just bringing up Marcus Foligno, who was drafted in 4th round, as an example of what kind of gems you can uncover, every once in a while, in the 4th round. That is all, bro.mathonwy wrote: You think the team would be playing different if we had kept Taylor Ellington and those two precious 4th round picks and not made the Hodgson trade?

Seriously... everybody should grow the fuck up and get a sense of perspective. Every season, most of the league's dominant teams go through a cold stretch at this time of year.
We essentially locked up 2nd spot in the conference with a month and a half to go. What did you expect?

Go ahead, shoot me Mathowny, guilty as charged. I don't like this new approach of filling up our forward group with Shut Down Specialists and completely sucking dry any ounce of offensive creativity coming from the 3rd line to help take the load off the first two lines in the scoring department. I'm a believer of using offense as a form of defense and I thought Gillis was too, guess I'm wrong. Now we've narrowed our scoring down to just two lines. As for the Kassian trade, I don't like it, so again, shoot me. You just don't trade young skilled natural playmaking centreman with an excellent shot for Steve Berniers. Sorry if it bugs you that I don't like the trade and I don't like Pahlsson especially considering that we already have Lapierre and Malhotra, not to mention that Kesler who is as good as they come in the department of Two-Way Centreman. It's redundant at the expense of offensive skill and replacing that with some young kid who really isn't a natural born fighter that everyone is expecting to take on the Lucic's of the world that will hopefully stop everyone from picking on the Sedins.mathonwy wrote:May I ask who your audience is that you're targeting with all of these intelligent and thought provoking posts you make?RoyalDude wrote:Lovin' this exciting brand of Shut Down Hockey that Gillis is putting together here.
