Kesler was out early, is not the same Kesler as last year due to off season inability to train and Kesler was taking on defensive assignments to protect Hodgson, rather than drawing defensive matchups away from the Sedins.
I think the bolded is the most important factor in their current woes.
Less ice to skate in, more interference etc, less power plays rather than a regresion in their skills and abilities.
They were near the top of the league in scoring before their recent slump.
