Despite Luongo's glitzy numbers they are uniformly unimpressed.

Any idea what Team Canada uses to choose a goalie? My guess would be "proximity to host city".

I like the idea of Luongo starting in Montreal for the same reasons,even is Schneids hasn't lost yet, think it would be a good time to see how the competition has affected Luongo's game .

Botchford & other media are definately trying to stir it up(i guess it's their job in this hockey crazy city),I don't blame AV & lou getting pissed off with the relentless attempts at making this something its not.(a controversy)

PS - did all those goalie coaches agree with your opinion that because Miller was out playing the puck he was fair game to be hit, eventhough the rule book as it is currently written states otherwise?

I only discussed that incident with one Coach, a guy recently out of the AHL and too young young to share my "Old Goalie" perspective cuz he didn't agree with me at all. He thought it was a total cheap shot. Seriously, it may really be a perspective that comes from a different, distant era. In fact, it's made me wonder if the rule really was different when I played. Any idea?

I think it would be reasonable to start Cory for the next game or two. Wherever Lou's head is atm, he needs to shake the cobwebs out and get hungry again. Running with the Ginger earlier in the season really seemed to spark Lou.

To gain perspective on Luongo...

He currently holds the career wins record for two NHL teams... Florida (108) and Vancouver (220). Is there any other goalie that has done that?

Patrick Roy is close with 262 for Colorado (1st), and 289 for Montreal (2nd to Plante who had 314).
