The thought of listening to Cherry, McLean, Oake, & Stock is not pleasant.

Would prefer it if the Canucks sold their Saturday games to another network.

The right to withhold my tax dollars from CBC would be nice as well.

I wish Team 1040 would delay their radio broadcast that second or half second ...what ever it is so that they could synchronize with the TV. I'd be on to the radio in a flash.

I agree with this statement. Listening to it on the radio is much more pleasurable than the PbP on Teevee

I think the CBC's broadcast contract is with the NHL and not Vancouver, although I would love it if RSN or TSN ended up carrying the broadcasts. I would really miss Grapes, but at least I wouldn't have to listen to that useless liberal MacLean, or the turncoat, Jim Hughson (used to love that guy with RSN, but he totally soldout).

Yeah HNIC is contracted to the NHL, but it's due to expire soon...thankfully. Can you imagine selling Cherry today to the CBC...hey here's an idea "we'll take a grumpy old man dress him in funny clothes...instant success " you'd be laughed out the industry. He fitted in maybe in the nineties.....here's another idea lets replace him with a more current ex play, coach, manager who understands the games past the neanderthal era

Yes he seems to have a major craving for Leafcock these days. :wow:

Your subtle and delicate mannerism always appeal a sort of Shakespearean flavour to them :D :D

Yes because one can't get enough of Rick Ball, Dave Tomlinsen, Jeff Paterson and Joey Kenward.

Do you have naked photos of Edith Bunker by chance ? i get that we all have different tastes but the group that does the majority of the Canuck games on the radio licks pipe.

I feel sorry for John Shorthouse having to occasionally work with those meat puppets.

I should have left Ball out of that and just mentioned the terrible trio. At least Rick Ball has a bit of talent. The other retards should being reporting on Junior B games in Whitehorse.

The 1040 play by play guys maybe every thing you say they are but they're sure as Hell better than any thing on HNIC, may sound strange but I never watch the Canucks on HNIC, maybe never is a strech but certainly very rarely.

I actually really like Baller calling the games. He's got good flow. Heard him call a few Jets games on CBC as well. Pretty damn good if you ask me. I'm still waiting for DT to 'grow into' his position as the colourman. As much of a homer as Larscheid was, I will take his enthusiasm over DT presently.

Canucks gave us season ticket holders vouchers to get in stadium head phones to get the 1040 broadcast as we watch the game live. I like it because if there is a disputed call, I can just turn it on and hear what it's all about instead of waiting for Ashbridge to announce something to the live audience.

I used to listen to the mid-day show, even when Moj was doing it temporarily, but since Sekeres and Price have taken it over completely, I rarely listen while I work these days. Sekeres' voice is just so grating.

Coaches Corner should be fun this Saturday.

I assume Cherry will make some cutesy voice when talking about Daniel, suggest he should keep his head up. Maybe throw in "the sister probably wouldn't fight.". Keith is a good CDN kid.

Or I will be shocked.

Tonight:

Cherry: “Five games seems right. There is absolutely no reason for [the Keith hit on Daniel]. The puck wasn’t around him. There is no excuse for that! That is the cheap-shot of all time!! Now I’m gonna show you... THERE IS NO EXCUSE... but I’m gonna show you now why he did it. Sedin should never be doing this stuff” (shows clip of Daniel’s prior hit with shoulder making some head contact).

Cherry went directly from there to a bit of a pro-fighting rant: “Which would you rather have? Now we’ve got two star players out, Daniel and Keith. If you don’t have the fighting you have that stuff”.

http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockeynightinc ... 2214948310

Cherry has been saying all along that by minimizing fighting / introducing instigator, cheap shots would become more common... that the NHL policing things with refs/suspensions would never work. :drink:

What the heck does that mean? If there was no instigator that Keith would have made Daniel fight?

Or if Keith took his drubbings from Juice or Kas, that there'd be no hard(er) feelings?
