Are we following Hodgson's games in this thread?

Jets Army has him a minus 3 in even strength scoring chances last night (2-5). He appeared to be mainly matched up against Burmistrov/Kane/Wellwood.

Brian Little was plus 10 (10/0) Byfuglien, Enstrom ladd were plus 8 (10-2) and Wheeler plus 7 (9-2). Ehrhoff was the only positive Sabre - plus 4 (7-3)

In Saturday's game Hodgson was even (4/4), but it was a hard game to judge due to the early lead.

In general, through the first 4 games as a Sabre, Hodgson's game by game Corsi and Fenwick numbers are consistently amongst the worst on the team. This is in line with the same numbers being essentially the worst among the canuck forwards despite the zone start bias he was getting.

I don't want to run the kid down as he is an excellent prospect to be sure. But it really doesn't surprise me that much that he's been pointless as a Sabre and his line by and large is getting outplayed. His strengths show on the PP where he has been pretty good for the Sabres.

His game last night was terrible. He was pretty good in the previous 3, but we've got issues that start with "R" and end with "oy" to address. He's seemingly able to suck the life and talent on any line. I wouldn't be surprised to see CoHo bumped up to the #1 spot to see if we can get our 7mill man scoring again (Vanek).

IN response to the "you guys paid Vanek so much ZOMG" comment a few pages back, that contract was awarded after we saw Darcy Regier actually handcuffed by the in-house cap and being forced to watch Chris Drury and Danny Briere both walk. I think it was Montreal that offered Vanek a ridiculous offer sheet, and it pretty much fucked our salary for the immediate future. Regier didn't have any choice but to match it, or you would have had a riot in the streets of Buffalo.
