I wonder where the Oil would be today had Lowe chosen Cory instead of Dubnyk 14th overall.

Ooops. :P

Same place they are right now.

The Coiler defense suck and will continue to suck until they start trading their skilled forwards for some defensive prospects.

The team was doing fine to start the season when Khabibulin was playing well. Since then, they've had very unstable goaltending from both he and Dubnyk and yes, piss poor defense. If they had Schneider starting a bulk of the games this season, he could have (realistically) won a handful more games than the current duo, putting them at least in contention for a playoff spot.

While the current group on the blueline is abysmal, the defensive prospects down the line are actually quite promising.

CoHo had a pretty good game in his debut. Had some nice shifts 5-on-5 with Ennis and Stafford on his wing and had some good PP time (picked up a plus when the sabres scored about a second after their PP expired). He got a PK shift and let's just say he's not ready for PK duties yet. Ducks outplayed the Sabres pretty significantly the back half of the game but Miller made 43 saves.

Also last night Nystrom nailed Letang. Elbow wasn't up but it was very similar to the Torres on Eberle hit in thate Nystrom decided to stop playing the puck to nail Letang. Principle contact was on Letang's chin though Letang put himself in a vulnerable position.

JR - Mike you're going soft.

MM - Yeah last time you're on, hit the road.

JR - Yeah i'm going to go get you a shirley temple.

MM - Beat it.

Remember this guy

Staubitz was assessed a second-period minor for interference (from the bench) and a 10-minute misconduct on Tuesday for reaching into a scuffle along the boards between teammate Alexei Emelin and Tampa Bay's Ryan Malone.

He'd earn a legitimate five minute major early in the third when he used Lightning tough guy Pierre-Cédric Labrie as a punching bag.
cheers

Brendan Shanahan ‏@NHLShanahan

...although it appears that the chin is grazed by the side of Nystrom's arm, the right chest and shoulder of Letang remain the PPOC. No SD.

I gotta agree with Shanny on this one. Stupid play by Letang.

Mike Milbury

He can't be any good.

The Gillis dumped him for a guy that plays in Russia.

So far in the past 5.5 periods the Sabres have given up 80 shots on goal. Miller hasn't let one in.

Beaucehmin and Iginla get into a scrap. Iginla of course keeps his helmet and visor on but still gets cut. Iginla takes the victory I think.

Well the Rags came back to tie it but Tampa won in OT, knocking the idle Leaves down to 12th in the East.

Did either of them really have time to dump the lids though ???

Meh Iggy is still a tough SOB even though he plays for that garbage team in Big Merrit.

I remember when Beachemin dropped Iggy during the Ducks cup run.

LOL Getzlaf scores with 45 seconds left. I NEED to read the funnies at Bountiful..... I'm sure it's Brent Sutter's fault, or Butler's or Sarich's ............the gift that keeps on giving.

Islanders dump the B's 3-2... in regulation.

Wooooooo.

We're 11 points ahead of the B's right now with the B's having 2 games in hand.

There are 4 teams in the West that are above 80 points.

There is 1 team in the East that is above 80 points.

Weird huh?

Did you notice Milan Don't You Know Who I Am I Can Do Whatever I Like Lucic

... tearing off an Islander player's chinstrap and tossing it to the crowd??

Anyone ELSE would've got an unsportsmanlike penalty!

Childish... but funny shit, never seen that before.
