...this effort in Nashville tonight is a good sign, right?

Heading into Detroit the Canucks were breathing a sigh of relief that Datsuyk wasn't going to be available on Thursday and that got them thinking ahead of themselves. Right?

The Sedins, Burrows and Kesler were tired after those two exhausting games against those power house leaves and Oilers. Right?

I don't actually think there's a team in the league that can play with the Canucks, the healthy Canucks, on a game by game basis.

Seriously.

But these guys are fuckin' lazy and complacent.

If this doesn't get turned around soon, by which I don't mean next month, a solid opponent will take them out of the playoffs in the first round.

You read it here first.
I am not sure what you have been watching lately. If the Canucks were lazy in this game, they must be sleeping in the last few weeks. With a bit of luck, they could be easily up 2-0 in the first period. The game would have been so different if they were up 2-0 eh? You can't win them all and the Preds are no slouch.
The scoring chances were 16-10 for Vancouver after 2 periods. That's a bigger swing than even the Toronto or Edmonton games. If that's lazy, I hope they play with their feet up in the playoffs.

In the third period the wheels did fall off. That appeared to be the result of running out of gas in the 3rd game in 4 nights.

Plus the fact that the Preds are pretty good at protecting a lead.

OT: Does anyone find that annoying when fans in other cities copy the Canucks fans but constantly accusing us? White towels, Green men... Those golden and blue men in Nashville were pretty lame...

The tootoo whistles need to be smashed. This is professional hockey, not a children's festival.

I know we can't win them all. Why wouldn't I know that cliche? Why wouldn't I know that a pile of 'ifs' equals a win?

On the other hand if it weren't Detroit tomorrow I'd be more confident.

Can't win them all, some bad mistakes but who cares.

This year screw the top position (yes I know about home ice advantage) I want the team to be refreshed come the playoffs.

Just relax all and enjoy the last 20 games of the season. :drink:

Top 2 is all that counts, and a first round against Phoenix, LA and/or Calgary would be fine. Third seed probably means Chicago (or Nashville) which would be tougher

Looked like the same game that the Canucks played against the Pred's in last years playoffs .. minus the heroics of Kesler.. Twins do not match up well against the Preds and were -2 .. Same thing in last years playoffs.. Twins were on the ice for most of the goals against.. Just hoping they relearn their defensive game before this years playoffs.. Looks like the second line cant repeat last years miracle performance..

Hard to put the -2 on the Sedins. There are 2 guys that were on for EVERY goal and played important roles in them.

#2 is great unless the WCF is in Detroit. I hear they are pretty good at home.

Dhabums is even more negative than I am. We've chased Rinne in two games already this season, the Preds are defensive specialists playing a tight system.

The Sedins don't match-up well against any team that plays a composed defensive system that has studied the twins' game and is prepared to simply wait them out with positional defense that lets them pass it around the end boards but never chases them. The Sedins rarely go to the net after setting up a point shot, so if you are the opponent what are you going to do?

I for one will stick to the box-and-1 system that lets Burrows take a beating in the slot and in front of the net while the Sedins wait for the defense to move, which we aren't going to do btw, then I let them setup the only thing that I give them, a point shot, which I make sure my goalie see's most of the way in at least and not worry about Henrik or Daniel getting the loose puck, because they're on the boards giving my defense room to pick up the rebound and clear it or get set for an outlet pass and transition to offense. I just hope they never change it up and start going to the net, because if they are even half as strong going to the slot as they are along the boards, with their puck control ability and passing I'm gonna have difficult time containing them and Burrows without taking a penalty.

Not in last years playoffs .. they weren't .. Maybe their worst performance in the playoffs was against the Preds..Were you watching a different series?
