W Where are the long term members of *this* board?
I know there are some because I've looked at the members list.
So far all I find posting are old Canucks Central denizens (or whatever the hell that poisonous old place was called).
Have all the Canucks Corner vets run away and hid?

I believe you are in the wrong forum.

Lots of old posters still on this board, most of us talk hockey and that is it.

Re: W Where are the long term members of *this* board?
In reality, most old posters are from both boards since both boards used to be one.
Never met you old stick, since I have been online with many of these guys since 1997 or so, but perhaps my memory is failing me.
Fred-- be nice, it wasn't that long ago that you had to get used to a smaller influx of old Central posters a few years prior to everyone making it here this past spring. New blood is good and frankly I think the board has been quite a bit better in the hockey discussions since Corner expanded.

Since i'm getting older too i'm choosing to type something more wisely...
As i can say for myself, it has absolutely nothing to do with a bunch of new old members. I'm still enjoying to read everything on a daily basis and i don't regret wasting my time for all these wisdoms written in here.
Unfortunately i don't have the time (or is it the drive ?, i know cheap excuse) to think of well thought postings anymore.
In the past i was following the games on the internet (10 years ago just on CKNW) and it was easier to respond spontaneous on this board. Nowadays i'm watching on my big screen (PS3/NHL Game Center). Damn technologies.

I also wouldn't be surprised if some still have the Cup hangover.
I'm enjoying CC 2.0 and look forward to the playoffs.

I think you nailed it there Corn.....I find for myself that I want the Canucks to win every game, but I don't seem to give a shit when they lose. In fact, I just laugh at them because when they lose a game (most of them anyways), it is painfully obvious what they could have done different to win. A couple of little adjustments. The maddening thing, and this is where I employ laughter rather than a violent form of catharsis, is that it is obvious well before the end of the first period, and yet we know that they aren't going to alter their approach. I think that's why I just don't give a shit right now and I'm just enjoying the games for hockey itself rather than any Canuck bragging rights.Cornuck wrote:I also wouldn't be surprised if some still have the Cup hangover.

I would imagine that it would be pretty hard on the players to be motivated as well.....getting to the big dance for the first time in your career, only to find out that the rules you have been playing within have suddenly changed and you are completely at the mercy of a group of bullies who in reality, and with only a very few exceptions, can't hold a candle to the level of talent in your dressing room. I know it took the wind out of my sails to watch it. I thought back and realized that the last SFC I really enjoyed watching was Pittsburgh/Detroit in 08 and 09.
All of Canuckdom is "meh" right now.

All long term Corner posters have been run off by the massive douche bag's from the cesspool formerly know as Canuck Central.
Sorry, but all of our kittens were dead.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
