RDS is reporting...

Postby ODB on Thu Nov 17, 2011 8:00 pm

Jeff Carter has requested a trade.

http://www.rds.ca/hockey/chroniques/330219.html

What a piece of shit baby! (if true, we are talking about RDS after all)

The guy has played less than ten games and he wants out. Wouldn't want to be part of the solution eh wot? I can't wait to hear GMMG should send Schneider to Columbus for Carter!

(that over paid nipple sucker better not end up here, he can stick his 11 year deal up his candy ass)
BTW, NOT A FLAME ... JUST AN OBSERVATION ... :P

Ya they would for sure but what can Toronto offer up to land him?
Carolina is dangling Bryan Allen and Tomas Kaberle for some offense (TSN site). Allen might help that shit ass D in Columbus, plus they have tons of cap space for a big contract like that.

I wouldn't trade a third round pick for Kaberle. He's done.

It's amazing how quick he went from one of the better offensive defensemen to the joke he is today.
Faster than captain invisible even

According to this Carter, his agent, and the Blue Jackets have all denied a trade request from Carter. They have also denied that he has even intimated that he might want to be moved.

I actually have some sympathy for Carter.

Yes, he knew the risk of signing a 10 year deal when the NTC wouldn't kick in for a couple of years, but he was assured by the Flyers that they weren't going to move him. Not only did they trade him without speaking to him, they sent him to one of the worst destinations in the NHL, where he may be forced to play out his long-term deal. It's safe to say that Carter never would have signed a 10 year deal if he knew there was a chance he'd be traded in the very early years to a bottom feeder.

Do I think he should pout, bitch or request a mid-season trade? No. I think he should shut up, if he even asked for a trade, and not only play out this year, but give the team a chance next season as well. But, if it's a situation he can't stand after that period and he's truly unhappy, then I have no issue with him requesting a trade.

I can't believe players sign with the Flyers TBH,

They have a long history of screwing over and miss treating their players and coaching staff. Players seem to have very short memories though as seem to never have any problem signing or retaining free agents.
