ISLANDERS (4-6-3) at CANUCKS (8-8-1)

TV: MSG PLUS (HD); SNET-Pacific (HD)

Last 10: New York 2-5-3; Vancouver 5-5-0

Season Series: This is the only meeting between the teams this season. They met just once in 2010-11, with the Canucks winning 4-3 in a shootout on Jan. 11 at the Nassau Coliseum. The Islanders won the last time they came to Vancouver, beating the Canucks 5-2 on March 16, 2010, as then-rookie John Tavares had a five-point night.

Big Story: The Canucks are back home after a 3-3-0 road trip in which the ups and downs were symbolized by Friday's 4-3 loss at Anaheim. Vancouver allowed the Ducks to score four unanswered goals in the second period, then roared back with three goals on 22 shots in the third, only to come up one goal short in a 4-3 loss. The Islanders, already last in the Eastern Conference, are wrapping up a three-game trip that has seen them go 0-1-1, including a 4-3 OT loss at Colorado on Thursday.

---

Usually we are supposed to lose when coming home off a trip. This game will be a laugher, 7-2 for somebody.

My head hurts.

6-0 Isles.

Grabner with eight goals.

Ballard finishes the night a -9.

The only question is if the Canucks get a late one to make it close or not.

Schneider will make 3 saves from the bench tonight while Luongo flounders on his belly.

Lou will surrender all 8 of Grabner's goals but get credit for the 3-2 win.

With Hansen starting tonite w/Sedins, look for #Canucks to go with Burrows/Kesler/Higgins + Booth/Lapierre/Hodgson

Manny on the 4th where he should have been about 17 games ago.

Hopefully Burrows can get Kesler going.

Ballard destroys Grabner with a monstrous hip check.

Canucks win 4-1.

6 points in 9 and a bit games for Booth. It hasn't been pretty. The defense has been suspect (and some bad luck). The goals have't come but he is getting points.

Hodgson needs to shoot that. Henrik disease. But Hodgson is starting to feel it the last few games. He's getting comfortable.

I think Kesler was calling for the pass because he thought it was a 2-on-nothing. Let the kid have it Kes.

Kesler is pretty much a black hole on offense right now. Killing his line.

Yeah he's kind of turning into a puck needy Raymond or Samuelsson.

Less is more Kes, you don't need to be in beast-mode all the time.

Btw, Booth has got some good chemistry with Cody wot? But it's probably because Manny the boat anchor is on the 4th line where he should be.

Good period. Too bad they only lead 1-0. Booth-Hodgson-LaPiere with a great period.

Problem right now for Kesler besides his timing is he simply doesn't have his strength back yet. And he likely won't for another couple of months. Statistically it will likely be a disappointing year for him.

He just killed it that period, I counted him in on 5 good scoring chances.

That 3rd line looks miles better with Lappy at center.

Our fourth line almost fucked it up royally. They got super lucky on that shift.

Stumpy making good offensive decisions and also doing good on defensive coverage.

Sedins are feeling it tonight. That PP was super sick.

Rome© with another goal!!
