Incidental contact
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

For real, Tops? You think Wolski's was incidental?

Not a bone-crusher of a setup, to be sure, but IMO definitely intentional (not intent to injure, mind you) and undeniably late, late, late.

No consistency here.

Topper's monocle is fogged up again.

It could probably use some incidental contact with a little soap and water.

Deveaux claims elbow was unintentional, Shanahan gives him Ranger treatment and 3 games. Head shots are serious business apparently. Right? Or has Shanny's preseason tirade just confused me?

Things have improved a lot since Campbell stepped aside...a lot clearer :D :D

It looks like who ever you put in that position they will fall to the will of the GM's or Governors especally if your name is Jacobs

Good news! There have been 50% less concussions suffered in the NHL this season than at this point last season!

Guess players actually do have the ability to avoid hitting the head... :o

So, the fact that you put another player's health in danger, that you may cut years off his life and increase the risk of dementia and/or parkinson is not enough for a player to think twice, but the fact that you may get suspended is? :eh:

I guess there's a whole lot about ethics and moral to be learnt from this... :|

I wonder how many concussions are being hidden as "whiplash" or "upper body injury" these days..

Sutton now out indefinitely. Deservedly so.

I won't be surprised if Anisimov ends up getting a call or fine from the league after his antics tonight. I thought it was hilarious, and that the goal was just a beauty of a passing play. I really don't see how it's any different than Byfuglien taunting the Canuck's fans after scoring, or some of the post game comments that we've heard from various players in the last year or so. If anything Tampa should have gotten the extra penalty there for retaliation and having 5 guys engage and try to scrap.

Ovechkin should have been tossed, Neal should NOT have gotten 2 for diving. Badly blown call. IMO, any time a player uses the blade of the stick as a weapon he should be tossed out of the game and then sit for at least 2 more. You can do serious injury with a hockey stick. Obviously hacking a guy with the shaft of the stick is one thing, but when you are using the tip of the blade.....I think that is justification for an off-ice official. No, he can't call penalties like tripping or interference, but someone who can call down during a TV timeout or something and have a player kicked out of the game for dangerous BS like spearing etc. That, more than anything else, would clean up the game in a huge way. PIeces of shit on skates would have to go out there knowing that big brother really was watching. Moreover, it would keep the NHL a bit more honest because we are seeing everything they see, and they would be without excuse.

I love how Lucic runs Miller, throws a massive hit and lays him out, gets nothing, then Tootoo runs Miller, gets roughed up, and ends up with a 2 game suspension. There is no way in hell that anyone can say that the league is not biased. Bullshit.

I don't think the Bruins are held to the same standard as many other teams, but this looks a lot worse when you don't acknowledge the fact that in between these two incidents the league's GMs called Shanny up and told him that a hit like Lucic's had damned well better result in a suspension next time.

Jeremy Jacobs is the Chairman of the Board of NHL Governors.

Think of Chara/ Pacioretty, Lucic/Miller, and there was one other I can't call to mind, none of them were given any secondary suspension...to me that's a trend.

Remember what Eric Lindros said earlier ( from his NHLPA days ), all teams are not treated equally ! and I think we can see what he meant

Spearing is a penalty even if you do not make contact.

Despite Lapierre's exaggeration last year, Chara should have gotten 4 or 5.

Did anyone else notice McQuaid got a $2500 fine for essentially the same play that got Porter 4 games?

And the beat goes on, the Bruins avoid suspension again.

It really is something else. I'm not one to subscribe to conspiracy theories, but the evidence is mounting.
