Sedins still show flashes of awesomeness but I haven't seen them dominate the other team for extended periods the way they have so often the past two seasons. The Vancouver offense in general has not looked like the highest scoring team in the league, although I suppose we just recently got our second line assembled.

I guess it's the other end of the ice that's been the problem so far tonight, however.

Can't wait 'till Volpatti gets a plane ride to Chicago.

Too many times so far we've seen this team just stop playing after giving up the first goal. Not sure what the fuck that's all about.

I'm not actually able to watch the game tonight, but I'm checking in on the score. 3-0 Oiler's in the 2nd period. We are out shooting them 20-14 at this point. Now Lou has been chased. Good riddance. Even though I can't see the game, the box score is writing these all up as wrist shots.

Sigh.....

1st goal against is all on Hodgson - weak play along the boards in his own zone allowed the pass.

2nd goal - WTF was Luongo doing gloving the puck right to Edmonton behind the net? You have to have a little more awareness to be good at playing the puck. He would be better off never going behind the net.

3rd goal was just a comedy of errors from the neutral zone in.

Who knows if they can come back, however if Eager keeps getting shifts, they may have a chance with the powerplay.

I wonder if Volpatti is better than Tanner Glass at Scrabble? Because he shore ain't at hockey.

While Hodgson should have played that a bit harder and not allowed that pass Manny shares the blame IMO.

He had a fantastic opportunity to break out strong and had his pass picked off.

Manny has been particularly terrible this game I've found. He's turning into a face off specialist and that's all. He migh as well coach if this is all we're going to get.

Manny has had many of his passes and clearing attempts picked off this year. You gotta wonder if he is actually having trouble see the ice and the defenders due to his injury.

He also had a chance to drive right to the net with the puck but inexplicably elected to skate around the short side instead. Luckily Hodgson scored shortly thereafter but it was a definite WTF moment.

Manny is looking more like a fourth-line winger than a third-line center. Poor guy must have gotten fucked up pretty bad from that eye injury.

Maybe defensive-zone faceoffs are all we can really expect from him at this point.

Yeah that's one of the special moments I was thinking about.

I will give some blame to the eye injury but he had some pretty wicked stretches of uselessness last year as well. He was turning things around just before the eye injury but there was a good stretch where we were talking 4th line last year as well.

Hopefully he just needs some games to get his legs underneath him cause this is pretty hard to watch to be honest!

If we do lose this one I won't be pinning it on Luongo. That first goal by Eberle was a laser and the team collapsed for a spell after that.

Only the second goal can be attributed to Lu. The 3rd goal was just a clusterfuck, that one hurt.

Unfortunately, it seems when Lu lets in one, he lets in three.

I will be.

The team wouldn't have collapsed like that if Lundqvist was between the pipes.

Lundy would have probably scored two himself.

After the save that Schneider just made on Eberle, and the fact that we have drawn with in one, that one goal that he should have had is the difference.

Regardless, this may not necessarily be a game that can be hung soley on Luongo, but when you have a $10M goalie, he is expected to bail the team out at least once. Luongo hasn't bailed this team out in a long while.

A SV% of .786 in this game, and .868 on the season.....
