I've had this problem the past few seasons. It's difficult to watch in October especially now that this team has a recent history of being very disjointed in the opening month. What's even more frustrating is you know damn well they are capable of so much more than what they show in October.

That being said it looks like they are starting to get in the swing of things a little sooner this season. Posting 2 consecutive 40 shot games is not easy task against 2 very defensive teams in NYR and Nashville.

Speaking of Nashville did you hear Shanny's explanation of the hit on Hansen? He said Weber "hit him a little bit on the shoulder" and the glass just sounded loud..I guess Hansen was just wearing his jersey sideways because the hit looked pretty much dead on the numbers to me.

Great work in the corners by Salo.

So Sturm plays much better last game and gets a day in the press box? Good thing too, it's not like we need all the offense we can get.

Bieksa with another shift straight outta 2010. Ill-timed pinch, bobbles the puck, missed assignment.

That just means Bieksa needs more ice time to play his way out of it. I'm sure he'll improve greatly once Rome comes back and becomes his partner ;)

Ballard and Bieksa are really not suited to play togther.

Is it just me or is Vigneault playing the crap out of the fourth line today. That would be fine if we weren't losing.

Bieksa needs to snap out of it. Lazy start to the year. Lazy coverage. Lazy soft passes.

He seems to enjoy waiting until the forward is right on him before he moves the puck, even when he has plenty of time to dish it or shoot.

And he pretty much sucks on the PP. Oh well, it's still early, right...

Lapierre is looking terrific this year, like he's found another gear with his stride. I'm still not ready to anoint him as our new third line center, though. If Manny can get back to where he was last year before the injury I'd prefer him getting the ice time.

No sense giving Staubitz a penalty for that blatant interference on Ballard. After all, he's already been in the box twice and they wouldn't want to look like they're picking on him.

If Staubitz had actually connected on that hit he targeted Ballard with in the first we'd be looking at a quiet room for Keith and a massive suspension for Staubitz.

Salo, Kesler and the Twins... pretty awesome 4-on-3 unit.

I'm starting to think Edler has no more offensive upside.

Sami Salo for the Calder!

Salo 6pts > Nugent-Hopkins 5pts

And Salo's doing it while paired with Alberts.

I wonder if Scott Oake will ask for Taylor Hall's thoughts on Salo's red hot start on tonight's After Hours?

The Minnesota second goal should never have happened - Ballard is covering Nick Johnson as they go behind the net, and instead of plastering Johnson to the boards, Ballard inexplicably skates away, leaving Johnson time to find Brodziak for a 4th line tally.

Just makes me angry.
