Wednesday Oct 12
WHL
Medicine Hat 4 Kelowna 2
Tochkin did not play (?)
As far as I can tell, Tochkin was a healthy scratch. Is someone pouting because they are in Medicine Hat instead of Chicago?
Tigers beat Rockets 4-2
excerpt:
ICE CHIPS: Kelowna’s scratches were D Madison Bowey (knee, 2 weeks), RW Brett Bulmer (NHL), D MacKenzie Johnston and D Tanner Moar. Medicine Hat’s scratches were LW Riley Sheen, D Kyle Becker (upper body, 1 week), RW Kellan Tochkin and LW Kale Kessy (suspension).

Re: Prospects Thread 2011-12
Steven Anthony and Taylor Ellington are sent to the ECHL Kalamazoo Wings from the Chicago Wolves...
Vancouver sends two to Kalamazoo
excerpt:
The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, two-time defending North Division Champions, reigning Eastern Conference Champions and National Hockey League affiliate to the Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils and American Hockey League’s Albany Devils, announce the Canucks have reassigned forward Steven Anthony and defenseman Taylor Ellington to the K-Wings.
Hahaha - that's a pretty funny press release... anything else you'd like to point out about the Wings before you say who was sent down?

I was at that game and I have to say Emmerson Etem was a big standout. Was just plain bigger and faster than everyone and scored 4 goals.

For those that are curious, Sergei Shirokov is doing pretty well in his return to the KHL...
GP 13 G 7 A 5 P 12 +1
I wonder if Florida will ever get him over to North America again?

Nicklas Jensen GP 9 G 4 A 8 P 12 PIM 4 +5
Projects to:
GP 65 G 29 A 58 P 87 (Jensen missed 3 of the 68 regular season games while at Canucks camp.)
That would be a good year.

Yes, except for the fact that one of those kids is Chris Tanev who is probably a top 5 or 10 defencemen in that league.Southern_Canuck wrote:Friday Oct 21

BTW the best news out of the early Chicago games has to be Polasek.
I though he would be back in jr. this year but from what I have read is playing in their top 4 and had been very solid.
Big, physical, kid who skates and moves the puck well. I actually have him ahead of Sauve right now as a prospect and think he will start seeing some spot duty next year.

Yeah - Lack, Tanev, and Polasek, and now Jensen and Corrado look like "legitimate" NHL prospects.Potatoe1 wrote:BTW the best news out of the early Chicago games has to be Polasek.

Schroeder, Erixon, Connauton, Rodin, Sauve, and Cannata are long shots, but who knows?
Also, the high school players Labate and McNally are interesting to keep an eye on.
Speaking of McNally, he had the interesting phenomenon of being on the ice for all 7 of his team's goals last night, and for none of the 4 goals against! Picked up 2 assists - pretty decent for a college debut.
