hypothetically, a van dyck.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Without a legitimate 2nd line, without Kesler/Ehrhoff on the PP, and with teams running the Sedins/Luongo as per the book on the Canucks.... things spiral out of control in a hurry.

Canucks start the season 1-8-1.

By Christmas: 11th in the west and tied with the Leaves overall.

The Sedins look merely mortal and the only truly bright light appears to be Edler.

Edler.

Sturm is solid.

Lou is solid for the most part, albeit with plenty of losses.

AV is fired early in the New Year, replaced by GMMG's pal MacT.

Canucks improve considerably and make the playoffs.

They make it to the SCF where they are swept by the Caps.

Riots in Vancouver.

Brian goes crazy, suddenly hates hockey, shuts 'er down, everyone migrates to HF. :drink:

I gotta disagree with you here. I think that the only thing that slows this team down is Kesler being out for the first month. Beyond that I think by the end of the 5th game every team is going to be shitting their pants (figuratively speaking of course) when they see us up next on the schedule.

Quite honestly I think that even though we threw down huge last season, this team has more to prove this year, and I'll bet you to a man, in that room (new signings excepted), they all feel like they got screwed over huge. Politically correct press releases and interviews aside, they know that they got hosed by the officiating and even a bit by their own inept coach.

Meds; I'm totally with you. Whether this team will too, we'll see. I think the team will keep taking the
gentlemanly/european approach - at least for the first part of the season. It seems to work in the regular season, but less so in the playoffs.

I don't anticipate Canucks' success unless one or both of the Sedins lose their composure and try to take someone out early in the season. Doesn't matter if they manage to do any damage, just that they try. If they show some spunk early, I think they get similar numbers and maybe further in the playoffs. Otherwise, bullying the Sedins becomes the NHL's favourite hobby. Again.

Koolaid bottle was empty when I arrived to the party...

Cody Hodgson will stick with the Canucks, play mainly on the 2nd line all year and be in contention for Rookie of the Year in the NHL -- this season. The voting will heavily favour an Eastern player who will win. People all over, not just in Vancouver :) will be discussing conspiracy theories.

That`s my prediction.

It got us to game 7 of the SCF, if I recall correctly. It got us past Chicago, Nashville, and San Jose, one (maybe two) of whom could safely have been described as contenders.

We will miss Kesler a lot, and struggle some without him. Other than that, I'm unworried about the lost players.

My view: I don't think we need changes. I don't think we need more toughness (unless that toughness can play, which our fourth line mostly couldn't). If a healthy Canucks lineup had gone against a healthy Bruins lineup (they can have Savard and Horton back), it's Canucks in 6 at most.
