Well, the Sedins were in top form, especially on the powerplays in the 3rd, but Hiller kept them all out.

3-2 Ducks final.

Faceoffs - Canucks were owned:

Hodson 8 for 17 (47%)
Ebbett 5 for 11 (45%)
Henrik 8 for 23 (35%)
Schroeder 1 for 4 (25%)
Volpatti 0 for 1 (0%)

Overall owned, yes, but while I don't like those numbers for Henrik, I can't say it's bad for the rookies at essentially 50%. Especially with Hodgson on the second line.

PVR'ed the game so I wasn't real happy to have to fast forward through 2 periods of baseball only to see the 3rd period.

-It's funny you watch the pree season and see young players standing out and playing well, then your real star players step on the ice and make all your prospects look like garbage. Cody, Jordan, and Nick, all have looked fairly decent at times this pre-season, but Daniel and Henrick just make the gap seem the size of a chasm.

-Most encouraging thing about last nights game was the first unit power play. Even with out Kesler and Erhoff, that group looked incredible in the 3rd.

-Top5 defence also looked great. Hamhuis was skating miles and lookes ready for another great season. Salo was rock solid and seems a toch quicker then what we saw last year. Edler was hammer pucks on net so I doubt his hand is still bothering him. Anyone think Tanev looks a lot like Salo now?

-Luo looked like he was playing in Boston....

-Hodgson still seems to be the front runner for the second line hole, but after last night I'm not sure how much to expect out of that line. Cody generates chances and is decent in his own zone, but Ryan Kesler, he clearly is not.

-The 4th line is wingers are starting to look more and more like VO and Volpatti who may not be able to combine for 5 goals this season. Both guys can skate and hit but the other top teams in the league get more then that from their 4th line.
