TV Shows: What are you watching?

First season has been over for well over a month.

Not in Sweden it hasn't!

Per, I know Meds gave away some info there, but as he said, there are a lot of twists and great story telling in GOT. Even though I know what has already happened or what will happen (Books are a good spoiler as well) I'd still go back and watch Season 1 as a refresher.

I will say this, the series stays pretty true to the books, more so than most adaptations.

Game of Thrones is far and away the best new series this year IMHO. Never read the books, want to now. Was totally blindsided when they killed Sean Bean and Jason Momoa, but love any story with the balls to put some early build up into some characters and then kill them. I'm an even bigger fan of the director/producer team that is willing to stick to that story and kill off the two more well known actors who play those roles rather than change story to appease some fans of said actors.

Well, I guess now that you've seen it there's no point in anyone else enjoying those twists, eh Meds? I mean, what else could be the logic behind completely ruining the series for anyone who hasn't seen it yet?

Oh, I've read the books. I started a thread about them in 2003 on Central to see if anybody else was into them. It's my favourite series ever.

My concern was for the people reading this thread who see that several people have recommended the show and might want to check it out... but just had the two biggest scenes in the season ruined for them. You could have sold the show without getting into detail.

And regarding the Game of Thrones show, yes, it is very good. A little clunky early in the season but the actors really find their groove by the eighth episode.

It really lacks the tremendous backstory and vivid detail of the novels, but as far as adaptions go it is top notch. Can't wait for season 2.

Good lord, I left the TV on today and was surfin' around the net, and all of a sudden Bachelor Pad comes on, and I slowly got hooked on that show, full trash, but interesting with all the feuds and backstabbing. lol

My W2B is hooked on that crap.

Just half way through season two and holy shit.... what a FANTISTIC show! I'm still early on in the series but it's looking like it could be better than the Soprano's!?!?

The Wire is, without hesitation, my favorite all-time HBO program.

Season 2, IMO dropped off a little, but they came right back in 3 and knocked it out of the park.

A former Sgt. of B-more PD is one of the writers/ex. prods and plays a big role in the production.

Outstanding program.

Love the scene with McNutty and the Ho's - classic!!!!!

sounds good odes...TV sucks right now between seasons.. after missing a couple seasons can i just jump in and be .all..like...wow what a fucking show...or will I miss some of the previous seasons nuances/

The Wire has been done for several seasons.

If you really want to get into it though, you will most definitely need to watch it for S1E1 - not unlike any other epic HBO series.
