HDTV Calibration

Post by Brian CC »

Anyone have any experience with calibrating HDTV's?

I have a Panasonic 50" TCP50G20 and the picture isn't what I thought it would be. I live in a condo so I'm not sure if it's a signal quality thing. But I've been doing some reading and a lot of people talk about having their sets professionally calibrated.

Anyone done this before? Anyone have any recommendations?

Check on line at AVSForum

http://www.avsforum.com/

You should be able to find the proper settings posted there.

I found the ones for my Pioneer and when I bought my Oppo Blu-ray it included a calibration disc. The online posted settings were spot on.

A quick search

I trust cnet. You'll find good settings at AVS but first you'll have to weed through the crap. These are the settings cnet uses when they determan the best displays on the market.

Your settings may vary depending on source, room conditions, and personal preference. Check out the Picture settings and calibration FAQ for more information.

ODB, I linked to the D-Nice settings. He's the poster at AVSForum to trust on these. His settings for my Pio were bang on.
